Hi,
just a question, probably looks stupid, but anyway,
in postalpennies i have 61 account with the same ip-adress, but does the same ip automatically mean the same person? I mean, should i remove multiple accounts with the same ip-adress no matter what?
I'm asking this, because all these accounts are active and "belong" to "different" members?
thanks in advance,
summersun

No it does not mean they are the same people at all. DON'T use IP's to catch cheaters only use them to verify your suspicions of cheating accounts.

but should i delete these 61 accounts? or could it then be that i delete honest members?
Could you, i mean other webmasters, send me some tips on how to search for cheaters in the database, to my emailadress?
please use the webmaster@ adress, thanks a lot in advance.
Sorry for bothering you with these newbie questions.

It depends on which Internet Service Provider people uses. In some cases, yes, some people would have the same IP number everytime they logged on. But you can't know for sure unless you find which ISPs does this. When you find out which isps have people using the same numbers, then you can delete people who have created many accounts.

Well, In most of the cases ISP is not the sole evidence for catching cheaters. You can do one thing, Check the account details of few members like their location, earnigs etc. If they all look normal, then they cant be the cheaters and if there are some weird usernames and no earnings at all then they MAY be cheaters.

Ok, what part of cheating do you not understand. Do you have 3 separate computers? I didn't think so. The webmaster will know because of your address and name. You are allowed to have one accout per person, per computer. Multiple accounts for one person or for one computer get deleted. The webmaster will find you. And You just admitted that you were thinking of cheating...not a good thing.

promoballer86zx, it depends on the program itself, some program allowed another member of your family can join the program also but some programs not allowed you to do that. So, it is best for you to read the FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) first and the Terms of Condition.

I have no idea what Chris posted that got edited, that would have been nice to know.
I use dialup and I can have a different IP every time. When I was new, I was happily going along finding 'cheaters' and got to one with 33 accounts! Wow! The Mother Lode - but wait, MY account (for qc purposes) was in there, too! LOL! That's how I found out about the IP thing.
Here's what I do:
Same IP - check emails. Same info, password, etc, email them saying 'delete your other accounts or I will in three days', or something like that.
In three days, if they are still there, delete them.
As far as I know, the myecom script prevents a lot of cheating. And it prevents all those stupid pending accounts.
I personally know most of the people with huge downlines in PJ so I know they aren't cheating. I do check accounts when someone requests cashouts, but since my payout is so low, I don't lose sleep over possible cheaters anymore.
I don't condone it, but it is far more time consuming and damaging for me to worry about it over 5 bucks.
A big help was making redemption amounts high enough that members had to actually earn something and putting the personal click-through reguirement in there. What cheater is going to actually participate that much? That goes against the whole idea of cheating.
Every new program goes through the 'delete cheaters like mad' phase. Exhausting and SOMEONE always gets screwed.
