Members may have noticed that this forum is often very slow to load and/or process posts etc.
With this in mind, I have started to cleanup the Trash and unnecessary archives that do not contain any useful information - this includes folders that were removed due to changes in GPF Policy over the years (e.g. Money Exchanges etc. ) Once this is done, I will run various database cleaning tools, including recalculating post counts. Some Members may notice a drop in their post counts, but as most of the posts concerned have been trashed, those Members are not entitled to those counts anyway. This may upset some people, but at the end of the day, they are only numbers and don't really count for much with what this forum has to offer. It is better that the forum runs smoother, than to have excess data in the database causing huge lags in the day to day running of this board.
This is likely to take a long time and I will update this post once complete.

The main cleanup has been completed, with some 600,000 posts removed from the Trash and obsolete Foreign Folders.
We may still remove some old areas, but nothing like this major exercise.
The Post Re-count tool has been run, so some Members will notice a slight decrease in their overall count.
