Dongt44,
If you are referring to the so called High Paying PTR, I would have to agree that chances of getting paid are slim to none.
But, you seem to be lumping in the High Paying PTRs with all PTR sites since you remarked about it taking 1000's of E-mails to even get to ten dollars.
You should not paint all PTRs with such a broad stroke because you are incorrect. People have and are getting paid and there are legitimate PTRs out there like some of the ones that have already been mentioned.
I am not sure how small an amount per E-mail some PTRs give. The lowest I have seen offer $0.001 per mail. However, the ones that offer that small an amount usual have very low payouts like 50 cents or 25 cents or or no minimums at all.
Someone earlier mentioned ValePTR has a minimum payout of 10 cents. I looked over the front page and it actually has a no minimum payout if you use Paypal and "...$1 minimum for Alertpay and LibertyReserve." The mails I have received so far are $0.0004, $.0005, and I even saw a couple of $0.001 mails. At least there were a couple today. I counted over 30+ cash mails. I didn't count the contest ones. There are always lots of those. Also, with those $0.0004 and $0.0005 mails there can be 3 to 10 links in each one. So you could, in theory cash out every day though they state that payouts are on the weekends that would mean a weekly payout.
On your point about it taking thousands of E-mails to get paid, I would be inclined to agree seomwhat. Penguin-mails, which I mentioned earlier has mostly $0.0025 cents mails with some $0.005 and $0.01 mails scattered in the mix. The majority are $0.0025 mails. They have a $3 payout. It doesn't take a math whiz to realize you will have to read quite a few mails to reach the $3 payout. I still have yet to get there. I am frankly not terribly motivated when it comes to Penguin-mails. Although, It appears that they do pay. You would have to read 4 mails to make 1 cents and 1200 to make it to the $3 payout if you think in terms of the lowest amount they pay per mail. It ends up being somewhat less when you factor in the smattering of $0.01 and $0.005 mails. For someone like Dolphin that sends out $0.005 mails it would take 600 to reach a payout. And for someone like Petmails that sends out $0.075 with a couple or so $0.01 mails a day it would be in about 400 mails.
So not thousands of mails but a lot for sure. Well if you get a site that only offer $0.001 mails and has a $3 payout it certainly would be in the thousands. But, as I mentioned, I think most sites that offer mails in the lower and of things usually offer smaller payout amounts.
It seems as the amount the mails value increase so does the payout level in general.
The ones that offer $10, $100, or $1000 to read an e-mail are just taking people for a ride. That is why they have such lofty payouts. No one will ever reach the payout level. And the ones that do are usual accused of cheating somehow and lose their account privledges and any payment they are due. That is when the sites actually take the time to reply back to complaints about not getting paid.
The old saying "If it seems to good to be true...." applies in the case of the High Pay PTRs.
If anyone wants to prove me wrong please do. I would love to get paid $1000 per mail read. Heck, you could send me 1 mail a week and I would be happy than a clam to join. As long as you pay me I would spend the rest of my day promoting that to everyone I know.
Paying a few pennies per mail is hard enough to do let alone offering $1000 per mails.
The point that I am trying to make here is that there are PTRs that pay.
But, if you expect to get rich off them, don't hold you breath expecting them to pay for that Ferrari you have been eyeing.
Now, if you can do a good job of getting referrals, you might be able to turn these PTRs in to some nice side income. Beyond that I think you will have to set your sites on more profitable and less time consuming programs.

Try get-umoney minimum payment 14,000 USD as free member. I am not sure it is scam or not. I am not paid yet.
I have a suspicion that one will never make any money from any of these PTR sites. Just think of you, one would have to read thousands of mails to get even $10.00. I just wonder if anyone has ever done it.
