I don't know if it the codine induced stupor from my back surgury recently, but there are a couple of things that I have to get off my chest and this is the best place for it! Disclaimer: This is not directed toward individuals, so please don't be offended! ac.gif

The get paid community is going down the toilet! Everytime I log on to the forums: Members are screaming scammers, cheaters and ingrates! Webmasters are screaming idiots, cheaters and ingrates! If this is how we feel about each other then why are we all doing this? Clicking-screaming, clicking-pointing fingers? What ever happen to the GOLDEN RULE? All of this is making me regret becoming a webmaster and a member. I am beginning to dread coming to the computer in the morning and this is why...

Let's see.... Come to the computer to click my links and see if the webmasters have responded to my questions, ad requests and/or payout redemptions....

Open up the first email: it's all searches and I don't know about anyone else, but I am in a part of the country that can't get DSL to my home yet so this takes about 10 minutes to accomplish. (hmm... webmasters say don't cheat on thier programs, yet they are sending 10 paid links to search programs that clearly state you are not allowed to do so hmm...) (and don't get me wrong, I know that's how we're making money to make the pay-outs due to lack of advertisers! but I for one am tired of hearing the pot call the kettle BLACK!)

Open up the second email: Oh Goodie! it's from the new program I just joined that claims no point links and a low payout. Ugh... guess what? It's a GD POINT LINK! (So I email and ask about it... still no reply!)

Open up the third email: Yeah, it's one of four paid emails from a webmaster that can send all kinds of paid emails but has yet to answer my question that I have sent on three different occations to two different email boxes over the course of the last two weeks.

Open up the fourth email: It's from webmaster that tells it's members to be active or be deleted, AGAIN! (Hmmm... I wonder to myself, if they are not active, how are they reading this?.... For God's sake just delete them and get it over with!) oh... and a search.

Fifth email: It's from a webmaster saying to stop asking stupid questions and filling up their email boxes with things that the FAQ can answer, they don't have the time to deal with this kind of idiotic behavior! (Time? Don't have time for their members? Hmmmm.. maybe I don't have have the time to click the links, OH!>>> but then I would be inactive and deleted!) AND A SEARCH!

Sixth email: It's from a webmaster that I have requested my due advertising (I am supposed to get monthly) from my silver membership I purchased. Maybe my ad will be in there this time. NOPE, but there are 20 other links, and search point links. (This will be the third month that I have requested advertising and have yet to see it.)

Seventh email: A whole bunch of links to the first 10 people (being sarcastic here) and a search link to everyone!

Eighth email: Its one of those cheat links, in which I always log into my account afterward to check my stats to find out someone of my downline clicked it and that has reduced the amount of money that I earned!!!

Now... if you have read this far, (I would be surprised ac.gif The ninth email: It's from a program I belong to. Wow! I see one of my members have advertised their link to my program saying that I am a great webmistress and I have a great program.

MY LIFE IS BETTER! I can return to the computer tomarrow to endure yet another day of the paid to click industry! Thanks Jan!!! Hugs to you for giving me the gumption to keep going!

awwwww, your ending is sweet aa.gif Hang in there, there are a few really good w/m`s ac.gif just got to sort thru them all aa.gif hugssssssssss
sophieca
Oh my dear ... change the sites you're in ac.gif

I have my own system

The mails go in different folders and even different mailboxes

First mailboxes :
- The mails I enjoy to read because webmaster/webmistress don't yell and command me things when I go to mail in my early morning
Some even make me smile and laugh .. I always open them ac.gif
- The clean mails, I mean the ones with a link and no blablabla around it, I click on the link, am paid what is said and next one .. those I like

Second mailbox :
- The usual ones, the ones with sometiomes good things and sometimes just searches and stuff I don't want

Third mailbox :
- The mails I don't like to read

Needless to say that the ones in my first mailbox receive a higher clickthru than the ones in the third one ac.gif

And depending my mood, I go to the different boxes ...but if I go only to my first box ... I enjoy GPT and have fun ... those wonderful webmasters exist... I hope you'll find those fitting to your needs, expectations and sense of humour ac.gif

Thank you for expressing feelings that I have not had the nerve to post, as I am a newbie and I thought it might be just me!

Also thanks to Sophie for some ideas

After working in retail for forty years, I thought I was going to be on the other side of the counter for a change. Same old, Same old!

Smile everyone, tomorrow the sun will shine.

Thank you for pointing out that it's not just us regular members that have bad days and get frustrated.

I think sometimes we tend to think that WM are a big group of people who are like a "good ol' boys network".

I hate that any of us have to go through it, but at least the webmasters who admit there are problems are probably the ones doing everything they can to make it so their members don't go through this. And for that I am eternally grateful!!!!

As for your back, I hope you get better very soon. I just found out monday I have double carpel tunnel and have to wait to go back to the ortho surgeon to find out about the MRI results on my shoulder. So I might be joining you in the drug induced stated!

I have my own system too which I think I stole from someone up here that had the same system and thought I'd try it and boy does it work better.. It got so aggrivating going through each mail different programs at a time.. so I divided my mailbox up in folders for each ptrp I'm in I have a few filters and the one's that send tons of mail get the filters that go straight to their folder. All the rest of them I sort by sender and send them to their folder. Then I go first to the one's that I know expire soon Then I continue from there to my most favorite programs then so on and so on.. It does seem to get faster that way and helps me understand from mail to mail what the webbie is saying.. that way I don't miss something or forget something from one mail to the other if its some type of continuation aa.gif

Hope that helps someone like it helped me aa.gif

ROFL ... I never tell what site is in what box tho, so if I change emailaddy, no one knows if it is to better or worse ... ad.gif

And another thing ... the bad days .. read only the praise section here, not the complaint one ... better for blood pressure ac.gif

Thanks sophie, you crack me up. I hate to admit this, but I have a habit of hanging out at the complaint section, not because I judge the programs from other members complaints, but because I am always afraid I will find my program here. ad.gif (Not that I do anything to get posted, but with some members, you never know!)

actually we can uncheck the box for searches in our profile, but regardless the searches mails still reach us. ah.gif

I've developed a short term project

it's called UNSUBSCRIBE from 1 program per day ae.gif

mycology
I've got a system similar to sophieca's

and it works out pretty good aa.gif

Your post was too easy to read to the end. It sounds like the same kinda frustrations a lot of use feel.
And it's great (kinda) to see other WM's feel like that because some believe you guys have a secret society where you 'take care' of each other all the time.
Some may, but not with this case at least.

Billidawn,
Billie, I read your frustration post and I need to tell you that "you hit the nail on the head precisely". I just registered here today just so I could respond to you. Yours is my very favorite PTR program. Boy, am I glad you voiced what so many others have been feeling about searches. I'm sooo glad you don't "cotton to them". I belong to too many programs that are practically all searches and they take forever to load and entirely too much time spent for sooo little return. I love your emails - I look forward to them and they're the first that I choose to read. I find you one of the very nicest webmasters. You are easy to work with and as long as I've been a member, I don't remember you complaining to your clientele in every email sent. You are a webmistress that others should emulate. Take heart and stick in there for those that love you.Get well - that's an order from a subscriber that does, in fact, love you. Jeanne
