Lately, whenever I click on a link for cash not points, it always starts opening up a multitude of pages and I cannot stop them from opening. It opens up so many that it crashes my computer or I have to just turn it off. I'm thinking of cancelling my account because of it, but I really don't want to do that. Is there any way to stop this? I'm using Internet Explorer. Thanks.

I would say use Firefox, I do and it has a pop up blocker in place and I get asked if I want the page I am on to go to another one.

But the ad you are refering to should not be on the site. Unfortunately it sounds like a PTP ad and there the page changes within the PTP page changes every time you look at it. So when Ron checks the ad it does not have mulitple pop ups but when some people view the ad they get hit with all those pop ups.

I am really sorry about this and I do realise how annoying it is. Some WM's will allow ads on their PTP pages that have multiple pops ups and then Ron (and some other WM's) ban that site from advertising. But all too often the advertiser sends in an ad for a PTP page which is inoffensive and has no pop ups, once it has been accepted they change what is on the page.

Wthout knowing which exactly which ad you were viewing it is impossible for Ron to check it out. If it happens again can you please make a note of the URL or if it is an email please tell Ron the name and url of the ad in question.

Something else that will help considerably is the HOSTS fix. You can get it at http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/ and I highly recommend you sign up for the updates. That's what I and most other puter savvy members use and we avoid all the nasties.

If you are unwilling to switch to FireFox and are using IE 7 or 8, it also comes with a pop-up blocker!
And OpaBear's suggestion for getting the HOST file from MVP is a good one!
