Communication to eBay Success

----- A Key Element to Become a Successful eBay Seller

Good communication is key to eBay seller who wants to be successful on eBay, especially if you are new to eBay selling.

I usually think as if I am the buyer when it comes to communication. Here are some advices to fellow eBay sellers (please add your comment after you read, thanks):

1. Respond fast. Always respond to buyer ASAP. I don’t think you will buy an item if the seller don’t respond within one day, will you? However, one shortcoming of eBay is once you respond, then you can not respond twice if buyer doesn’t respond back. I usually ask the buyer to respond so that I can provide further information and I provide my email to buyer so he can contact me faster. If for some reason, you respond late, always provide a reason and say sorry about the delay.

2. Be proactive. Sometimes an item the buyer is asking about doesn’t meet his/her requirement, always recommend other products that meet the requirements or if you currently don’t have any item suitable, ask for buyer’s email so that you can inform buyer once an ideal item is available.

3. Be professional. Sellers need to do there homework to know about the product he is selling. If you don’t know, don’t give ambiguous answer. Search the internet or ask someone know about it to get the answer.

4. Remember good manners. Always be polite to buyer even if he/she is angry and use some bad words. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

Recently I purchase an anti-virus software from a seller, and have seen him close the account after a negative (might be more) feedback he received because he didn’t respond to buyers’ software licence request on time. He perhaps was on vacation. I did wait patiently and finally I got the licence because I know a negative feedback is a killer to a sell’s account.

I hope you can share your experience of eBay selling with me, thanks for reading. :=)
