I may be the only person left in the world with a 33K modem and a 166 processor, and running Windows 95, but somehow I doubt it.
I would like to request for those of us who use older computers to do our PTC programs that you WM's consider not using applets on your home pages or pay to click pages. I have no problems with plain javascript, but the applets freeze up my system and if they DO load they take about 20-30 minutes. I have to CTRL ALT DEL to get out of the loading of the applets and then restart my computer each time I run across these applets.
I know you all want these spiffy hi tech sites, and I truly appreciate your programming skills, but there is no chance that I'll be able to upgrade or buy a new computer in the forseeable future. I use my personal PTC earnings to help pay the bills. I am on disability and have a REALLY tight budget.
I started doing PTC programs to try to earn a little extra money so that I could afford a few extra's once in a while, and while I have not yet cashed out in any of my programs yet, I'm really trying to remain an active member in the programs that I've chosen. I've even done some advertising to promote some of my programs with a few extra dollars that I've come up with. The advertising specials that my Webmasters run have been an incredible help to people like me who can't afford to buy advertising any other way.
I think this is a terrific opportunity for all of us to make some extra cash for whatever use, but I beg you to consider the usage of your members and know that there are programs that I can't or won't join because I can't load the pages in less than 30 minutes and I don't have that kind of time. With a 33K modem you can imagine the amount of time I spend just to do my email and the pay to clicks on the sites that I belong to.
Sorry to crab, I just had to get this off my chest. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to voice my frustration.
I look forward to any comments about this subject.
