There are a couple of sections on the forum which are:
a ) effectively duplicated
b ) Spam Magnets
The Sections "Open "Other" Program Advertising - Promote Your Favorite Paid to Click (PTC), Paid to Read (PTR), & Other Programs" AND "Open GPT Advertising - Promote Your Favorite Get Paid To Program" have been merged into:
"Open GPT Advertising - Promote Your Favorite Get Paid To Program"
A similar concern is "GPF Staff & Senior Member Shameless Self-Promotion" AND "Premium Program Introduction & Promotion (GPT Program Directory)"
These have been merged into:
"Premium Program Introduction & Promotion (GPT Program Directory)"
The consensus between the Staff is that these sections go against the grain of GPF, namely that we are constantly removing Spam, Members are always complaining (justly) about Spam, yet we have a folder that is purely Spam. It is a very difficult area to manage fairly and the rules are somewhat confusing.
Members have plenty of opportunity to advertise their favourite Programs in their signatures and there are many alternatives to advertising, both free and paid for, outside of GPF. At the end of the day GPF is a discussion forum and not a free-for-all advertising facility.
However, GPF is YOUR forum too and we would like to run a poll so that you can have your say.
I will add a few options to this poll, but am willing to add more as requested. Any comments will be welcomed and we will eventually make a decision once we have enough feedback.

I agree GPF could use some cleaning up. To start it's too big with so many boards I don't get what goes where. The general discussion should include all GPTS, PTC, PTR,s everything.
The downline builder is very confusing too, there's no area for GPTs or too hard to understand where something like my site would go in that area. Maybe it can be merged as one also.
The open advertising can stay but not count in post count and be lowered on the forum in it's own area.

It was divided up like that to help separate the ptr's from the ptc's
According to me their should not be any section which only help to increase SPAM. Member can post their link in signature and can take part in discussion. Forum should not entitled to increase post count. Forum should only have meaningful discussion. Before previous admin, Their was no section of money exchange their. It should not be their now too.Please remove India Discussion section as well. Program contest and industry announcement section should be merged.

Open GPT Advertising. Who actually goes to that sub section? Everyone knows it's full of SPAM. There is nothing informational there.
I suggest that to be removed. This forum should informational and for discussion of money making not SPAMMING on programs.
I would open an Advertising Section for users who have like 500 posts or something like that. Peopl who you know that wont put a thread for spamming only...

From a "GPF is an investment" perspective, I would think that having free advertising allowed here (outside of signatures) would defeat the purpose, and probably detracts from people considering actually buying advertising at this forum. Why pay for something they can get for free?
I would also propose tighter punishment for spammers. If they get even a 24 hour suspension, I think it would help immensely.

I realise that this is in no way representative of the thoughts of even a small percentage of the membership of GPF, but we cannot wait forever to make a decision. Therefore I intend to let this Poll run until Wednesday 12th August 2009 at which time we will make a decision on the future of these 2 threads. This means that this poll will have been running for one week when Wednesday comes.
