Hey ! aa.gif

A question I ask myself : what do you think about France and french people ?
I'd like know how France is seen by the world. There are many stereotypes that are often wrong, like the berets worn by the french (lool).
The beret is worn by the elderly, especially those living in the countryside.

The French are Rude
No ! ad.gif ad.gif lol

The french are not ! These are often people who live in the countryside that have some expressions that may offend.
It is often difficult to understand them...

Are you a fiew questions about french stereotypes ? ^^

I was personally in France a few days ago. I was in Marseille and Civitavechia...

French people are sometimes rude and some of them don't bathe before going to sleep...which totally sucks when I was in the BUS!!!!

Marseille ad.gif . The people of Marseille are rude, yes. When we see a people of television, we know if he's Marseillais (people of Marseille) or not.
Me, I live in Royan, near Bordeaux, and the people are 1000 times nicer than the Marseillais. The city of Marseille is beautiful, but the people, hum ao.gif
wilito92
Yeah... Most Frenchies dont do that... which totally suks sometimes!

Also.. they like to cheat. I remember I changed $300 and they gave me 200 Euros. I took a taxi for a tour of VilleFranche... he wanted 100 euros for a roundtrip. When we arrived at some historical place I gave him 40 Euros instead of the 25 that we agreed on every stop. I got confused cause the 20 euro bill looks like the 5 euro bill so when I went to tell him of the error he told me that I gave him only 25... LIAR!

but things happen. My sister got her ipod and camera stolen too... FROM HER PURSE! they are good stealers too... lol

In fact, the frenchies are people who are very sociable. It's not uncommon to see people who talk about everything and anything, then they don't know each other. About the bathe before going to sleep : most french take a shower the morning, before going to work. Foreigners can find rude French, 'cause they're often in misunderstanding.
We don't hesitate to speak everything at everyone.

France is a nice place to visit.
I love the French sticks or baguettes as you call them, those tarts with fruit and the yellow cream in are absolutely delicious. I love the way the supermarkets have such lovely delicatessans with cheeses, cooked meats and other delicious things all on display.
It is the small things that give so much pleasure like when you go into a cafe they give you an individual biscuit on the saucer with your cup of tea or coffee, not sure if it is in Belgium where they do that though?
My brother works and lives in Metz on the border with Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg, my daughter is in Paris at the moment and she is getting the train to his place on wednesday and they are all flying back on saturday and in her suitcase will be a fresh baguette she will bring home for my tea on saturday bv.gif

France reminds me of coffee and french bread! I have some distant cousins that live in Neice, and my heritage is about 50% French, so of course I would think well of French people ab.gif

Vive la France!!

I just returned from a two week vacation between Montpellier and 'les Cévennes' at the borders of the Hérault-river aa.gif

France is the most popular vacation country for us Belgians by the way. We like the fact that the French are more relaxed (especially at the countryside I assume) and live their life less stressful then we do (I don't know whether that's actually true or not aa.gif )

In Belgium we only have rain, rain and more rain (and chocolates and french fries that aren't really 'french' but Belgian really aa.gif , and beer of course).

France has so much more to offer:

Paris is always pure magic for every visitor, the weather is nice and warm in the south of the country and in the wintertime there's plenty of snow in the Alps, the Pyrenees or in the 'Massive Centrale' aa.gif
The wines are delicious, the cheese famous and I ate many 'cavaillons' as well of course.

Personnaly i'm living in France and i Like it ...

ok etter don't visit south of FRance people are Rude ... but if you visit Paris that's a great place where you'll surely find nice people ...

The French aren't as obsessed as Americans are about daily showers and the scent of soap. Most practice perfectly acceptible hygeine, and it is unusual to encounter a person who stinks here.they stink, women don't shave their underarms, they are rude, they hate Americans.

Just google French Military history, or go here: http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/jo...taryhistory.htm

That's what I think about the french.
