Hi All,
When you check off your interests in your user info, how many webmasters pay any attention? The reason I ask is because today I joined a GPTR left search unchecked and tonight got my first mail from them that had a search link but also said if you click on it and don't search you will be deleted after a certain amount of clicks. I am using this as a example but probably 75% of the GPTRs I belong to send search links.
My other problem is with PTC's that have a separate search section and then half the links in the regular PTC are searches.
The only other thing besides adult in interests I leave unchecked is social after a webmistress sent a porn link and said if you didn't want them to uncheck social. Excuse me? Isn't that what Adult is for? Got outta that program really quick.
I know I am probably missing something here, thats why I am asking those of you "in the know"
Thanks,
Have a great day!
Blessings!

Hello Kim aa.gif

Generally you will find search links in most emails at most P2R companies because it is a way to generate revenue for the website.

Some engines pay real well, so people searching those links could bring alot of revenue to assist with the costs of running the site. Unfortunately, most of the $$ is used to pay the people who DON'T search and just click the link for $$. This brings the value of each search WAY down.

It is normal to see a few searches in an email.

When you do not select searches in your intrest section, you are generally opting out of Search ONLY mailings that some P2R's send out.

You should never be required to click a search link, it's preferred that you don't unless you intend to search from that link. Helps those who honestly do want to search to earn.

As a webmaster, I can say that we do listen to our members at our site. Most good webmasters/webmistresses do. There are some that seem not to care. All you can do is pick and choose the companies that treat you well.

Sorry if the intrest sections on most websites seem misleading. It's part of the scripts when you buy them.

Hope this helps to clarify things
