I placed 10000 Magnets on the from of phone books that will be out in mailboxes in June 2009.
I was just curious as if anyone else had done this, and what there results were. I am a Melaleuca independent Marketing Executive, so this is what I put together.

I was curious as to what people thought of this, and I will post the number of leads I get from the campaign after the phone books are out.

Links a bit of a mouthful, and as a result quite long. Because of this I would be unlikely to check out the site.

Thank you for your input. I do agree I just set it up to link to the Dept of Healthcare and Human services site, do you think I should have bought a shorter url and redirected it to the government site? As for the other url, i just wanted something memorable.

Wow, if people are really interested in a site they will go to that site even if it means typing a few extra letters. I can't believe someone would be so lazy (sorry iwillmakeitbig) that they will let the length of the link stop them from checking out something they are interested in.

It should be short simple and have an interesting topic to get people's attention.

IMO I think it's a good idea - but then again it all depends... coming from a mother of 2 I'm always looking into things that have to do
with my children, their health and protection. BUT then again lookin' at the link, might would throw me off a little b/c, if I was someone not knowing
alot about the internet, I would be hesite to go to a site w/a name like that just thinking if might not be "legit" or whatever. BUT since it does that "gov" on it, can almost bet it's safe, so I'd probably check it out aa.gif

And plus I know lots of ppl who rip those magnets off the books and use them an keep them around - never know when friends/family of that person will see it up and become interested.

Let us know how it goes aa.gif

1 lead already is pretty good! (I think so atleast) aa.gif

The magnets staying around on fridges is exactly what I was betting on. With any MLM using a standard phone book listing you run into the problem that very few people will be seeing it. I am hoping that several of the magnets will be used to hold papers on the fridge, and then return a lead even months down the road. That first link is just the federal dept oh health and human services product lookup that I stumbled upon. I looked up something that I thought was safe to use on baby's A and D ointment, since several doctors recommend it for diaper rash, only to find it has several cancer causing agents if absorbed through the skin. I wanted everyone to have the ability to look up there chemicals. The MLM that I am part of also has a direct customer status, where I don't really make anything, but believing in karma I an letting all of the leads know about it. If I am able to help a few hundred people improve the lives of themselves and their children, that is good enough for me.
