I'm not sure how many people here have seen that site, but they have one of those annoying flyin ads, which are getting annoying to the point that when I see ads for them I click the link, but will certainly NOT let the page load.

I honestly think that if you are going to use advertising such as this, have it on a page that is NOT your main index page. I have seen a lot of surf sites, whether they be manual or auto ban sites that have them from their sites and I am thinking that the GPTR sites should do the same.

They dont give you money for having it there, and tell me, do you honestly think that people actually look at the advertisement. I can tell you I dont, since it's quite easy to just close the IE window down. Oh, you say that dont work, hate to tell you, it does, specially when you just then do a control+alt+delete to just remove the offending browser window.

So anyone that is a member of this site, and I know there are a few out there, I think you should have a serious discussion with the WM of said site, because it's bad enough having to close down annoying popup windows, and even more annoying when you are doing your emails to have to click on the next link to only find you have been stopped from continuing because of the flyin ad that suddenly appears. Now, let me inform you of something, by having it there and someone goes to the next link, do you think it stops the next link from loading up, nope, it doesnt, the other one just loads up underneath it and as soon as the little x is clicked to close it, you find you have already gotten credit for the next email.

I am right now also writting to the WM's of the sites I am with asking that they avoid sites that have this popin advertising. Sort of like a boycott, but I think most will agree it is flaming well annoying have that come in when you go to EXIT a site. I wouldnt care if it came in at the beginning and you had to click to get rid of it, but when you are going to go to another site, no.

Or at least make the code readable. ######, I could deal with the popups as long as it didn't throw errors. People, please fix your scripts!

Please post your complaints here:

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/reviews?...rl=flyinads.com

I know the webmaster reads it.

May I quote a freind of mine:

WHY YOU SHOULD NOT USE THEM

1. They are not fair to other users. To quote Doug Williams, "On a 30 second TV
comercial, you don't see KFC popping up in the middle of a Toyota commercial.
WHY? When Toyota pays for the air time, it belongs to them, no one else!"
Likewise, exit ads of any type are not allowed on Autosurf4cash--they are not
fair to the person whose site comes after you in the rotation and deprive that
person of time they paid and/or surfed for.

2. Unwanted advertising doesn't work. Flyin ads claim they are a new technology.
Actually, they are not a new technology at all and merely use a function that up
until now has been avoided by most marketers. The reason they were avoided in
the past is because they are annoying as ######! Forcing an unwilling person to
view your advert will only cause hostility towards you in all of your online
endeavours. I can tell you personally that my opinion of Mike Chen has changed
dramatically since he revealed his sense of ethics (or lack thereof) by
launching flyinads. I no longer would consider making a purchase from any of his
businesses, and I am becoming highly suspicious of other programs where he is
listed as a testimonial. I also don't think very highly of the people that put
his code on their pages.

3. Our TOS prohibits you from having any popups on your page or anything that
interferes with our members' smooth autosurfing. If a flyin ad is found on one
of your sites, the site will be deleted and possibly your entire account too.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO STOP THE EVIL FLYIN ADS?

1. Consider boycotting any website that says Mike Chen on it as long as he
continues to sell this product.

2. Get a flyinads killer. There is a new flyinads killer out that kills not only
flyinads, but also popinads as well as traditional popups. You can set it either
to kill everything that tries to open itself, or you can manually ban particular
sites. Once the program has been out a little while longer, you will be able to
download a banned sites list, based on input from other users on what sites are
using flyinads.

You can download a free trial of the flyinads killer at:

It's not just TMC. EZweblife has them...BIG TIME, so do several others. I bet if you asked Lee Anne about it, she would be doing the right thing faster than the others would, too.

I do, however, agree that they are most annoying, along with all the irresponsible people attaching pops of one sort or another that happen to have forced installs attached...MAINLY OUTWAR!! I've removed their stinkin' porn forced installs and several other programs enough times I'm about to find some nasty little program myself to make sure that advertiser never does it again! Those aren't stopped by normal means, and half the programs don't run properly when you put up the firewalls, and a LOT of them come in regardless! I've been composing a rather long email to the Outwar people and am thinking seriously about 'damages', if they don't get their act straight!

That's the stuff we need to be yelling about the most. Everyone has to make a buck off another person one way or another and it stinks.

I can't thank you enough for this post. I was griping about this on another forum just this morning.

EasyMoneyMail has them also, and it's driving me batty.
databass
with things like flyinads it makes you wish that these hackers would do something which a lot of people would thank them for, rather than attacking get paid to read sites etc, perhaps they could do us all a favour and nuke the sites where the flyinads code is supplied from

I know that may sound a bit malicious though realistically it's no more malicious than the damage caused by the things in the first place!!!

GRRRRR...I hate those dang things. I have enough trouble fighting with the cat chasing my cursor and getting things done on here without having to chase them little ###### around trying to close them.

ent that the truth!

I saw your post and considered it ... even tho Jaikula says no ever looks at them .. they do, in two days it brought 5 paid advertisers in. Hence the onslaught of paid emails in your box when you woke up this morning.

It hurt but the flyinad has gone

Oh, I think I have written on here before about Outwar ab.gif ...

But I also have my internet setttings setup so that sites like Outwar which try to install stuff simply cant without my permission for it to happen, as well as Outwar.com being on my restricted list along with other places.

Now funkymotha, I wasnt aiming anything at your site, just at flyinads in general, and the trouble that they cause, specially within the GPT industry.
funkymotha
but TMC mentioned in the complaints folder doesnt look too good ah.gif

but I dont mind really cos its our 9th month of payouts whooooohoooooo!!!

that reminds me I have to get off to bed (early start yet more redemps to do)

Rapid Mail 4 U has the most annoying...right on the paid to click page. So when the page tries to do the auto-refresh it of course gets stuck. Autohits Now was offering a popup killer for pre-launch sale the other day that is SUPPOSED to stop even these pain-in-the-you-know-whats (just for info)

First, yes, we're all here to make 'a buck' ae.gif but for the most part, we do it responsibly. See what Lee Anne said, she took it off because of the negative thoughts on the subject, even though it brought her money.

Lee Anne, I knew that you would be one webmaster that would stand up and consider the feelings, even while it would lose you money. I am sorry for that part, truly. You're one of the webbies I respect, and consider it a gracious thing you have done.

My major response was the total irresponsibility of some who continue to send some of this junk out AFTER knowing that some are truly malicious. That has me worried. Especially with the webmaster part.

As far as the tightening down on computer, I've got every single control I can think of...and THEN some...and there are always some that still sneak in. Outwar being one of them. I can't handle any more programs on my comp until I upgrade more, and this one program alone has made me shut down a total of 4 times this week. Sorry, Dana, but you sent one of them. Dusty Gold on PTC had one. And 2 other sites, I forget which right now.

Dana a bit of this goes back to your labeling and what Brian was talking about the 'mystery' links. Every time you send those emails I cringe. And this isn't a negative against you...it's just my feelings about entering a revisit link or labeling 'search', 'outwar', 'jumping jelly beans', etc. ae.gif

It gives us a choice to click or not with some sort of labels. We know what we have to avoid on our comps, or what we want to avoid as to searches, etc. And then, too, sorry pipples aa.gif sometimes one point just isn't an incentive to go back to the same site we saw through 15 emails AND already belong. (I know, off topic...but not in a roundabout way, and isn't aimed at one...just generalization.) LOL

It goes back to being responsible and thinking what might be actually harmful to some people. We can't all afford the bells and whistles or upgrading memory, resources do get eaten up, etc.

And again, thanks Lee Anne. I know it was hard, but you responded to our concerns. I applaud you for that. aa.gif
funkymotha
you are very welcome

the clincher for me was the fact its an exit ad and therefore it does interrupt the next advertisement.

If for instance I sent out to paid emails one for TMC and another one and the other one happens to be clicked second then with that popup, no-one is going to be interested in my second program. Plus the fact that my members couldnt use TMC in the traffic exchanges anymore.

Personally I loathe popups but they do generate income/hits for the webmaster and I am willing to put up with one (ie exitcashflow etc) I avoid certain paid links if I know they go to certain programs with lots of popups
