Do not worry, this is only a blip caused by Ron's computer problems. He had to take the machine into the repair shop. Everything was backed up on a second drive in the computer. Ron decided as it had to go into the repair shop it should get a big upgrade. Ron insists they did not re-install the stuff on the second drive although the shop said they had. So Ron had to take the machine back to the repair shop. And once again they are working at a snails pace to get it back to him.
The hosting fees are paid in advance and as Ron has no computer access he has not been able to pay them. As soon as Ron gets online he will pay the hosting fees and Tesas will be back in business and the backlog of ads will be sorted out.
Do not worry, Tesas is not going anywhere. It is only a blip caused by the computer repair shop.

Yes, but sooner or later, it needs to be back up sometime soon.

I do not understand what this has to do with the owners computers problems. The site is not hosted on his computer. It is hosted on Hostigation. But knowing this owners reputation I am sure it is some small oversight, nothing major and will be resolved soon.

I read that but hosting is due each and every month at the same time and you can go to places that have internet services and pay the hosting. As a responsible owner he knows that, so I am thinking it must be something more than just having forgot or having no computer. Because lets face it there is a computer available in so many places this day and age. If he knew he was going to be offline, he would have paid hosting fees before hand. He must have known it was going to happen, otherwise how does anyone even know he had problems. I personally don't think he would just forget. But don't get me wrong, I do not think he would ever do anything to hurt his members on purpose either, he is a responsible owner.

Actually that has been my concern too, because I just do not see Ron as one who forgets his hosting, even if his computer is down.

Thank you Blythburg. I was away and hadn't been on the site for a couple of days, saw that message this morning, and was worried something had happened to Ron.
I know he so meticulous about paying bills on time.
I hope he gets his computer back soon. Tesas is the one site I can count on.

Ron made one big mistake. Instead of spending his limited resources on an external hard disk he had essentials backed up on to his spare internal hard drive. Everything he needed was on that machine. When he had the hardware problem (a fan if I remember correctly) he decided to have the machine upgraded whilst it was in the shop. The shop did a copy of the 2nd hard drive and wiped everthing on the machine before the upgrade. But when Ron got the machine back he discovered the shop had not put the all the info back onto the computer. So last Monday it was due back in the shop to be fully sorted. A shop that was slow last time.
As everything was on that backup on the computer I am assuming Ron had his calendar on there as well and probably does not realise his hosting was due. I know when it is Christmas/New Year period my weekly routine gets out of synch and I lose track of which day it is. I suspect that Ron knows what day of the week it is but not necessarily the date and the fact that the hosting needed paying.
I am not denying or belittling Ron's health problems but I am sure that is not the problem. I am hoping that Ron will get his computer back tomorrow when he will have a huge

and be contacting the site host and getting it sorted.
Then an even more

Ron will be here to apologise. I havehis phone number and will phone Ron Tuesday if nothing has changed.

I got this message from a fellow member so it seems I cannot even phone Ron.
Quote: Ron uses the viop service of magic jack for his phone. Similar to vonage phone service you use your internet connection and computer for your phone. Until he has his comp back I dont think he'll have his phone operational either.
I guess this makes sense as it saves him money and there is no arguments over phone bills. But at times like this it is a bit of a nuisance.
And although I worry about Ron I am far more worried about my own husband who is far from well at the moment, his ongoing health problems are worse than usual but will settle down again in time.
My family all live in Victoria State, Australia. My younger (half) brother and his wife are not in a fire area at the moment but that can change any time with the fireraisers. My older brother and sister live in an area more affected but all are OK at the moment. But I am so worried about them. Just heard a terrible story on the radio. A man put his children in the car, went into the house for something and came out to find the car on fire. The children are dead and he is alive. Unbelieably horrible.
I am totally convinced that it is just a computer problem and Ron will be back on line very soon.

I am not getting anything like as much PTR work done as I would like but got this message from the excellent Jaguarcash (google if you want to join, which i recommend) so it might not be hosting fees as I thought.
hi, some of you may know that there was a succseful hack attempt on some sites hosted on hostigation (we arent hosted with them)
i have seen tesasteamails.com site is suspended so i am in the process of finding and halting members ads for tesas and will resume them as soon as this situation is remedied
i do not know if this is the result of this hack but very well could be and im sure they are working hard to fix it.

The reason my computer being down caused all the problems was due to my not being able to contact any of the sites to have them send me a new password because the emails still aren't working yet. Going to be working on that later.
Not to worry, we have these little snafus from time to time but after 4¾ years, neither the site nor I is/am going anywhere.

I know I'm only one of thousands of members, but I love TesasTeaMails!
I wanted Ron to know that I'm putting my account on Vacation mode till the 02/17/2009.
I'm using my hubby's computer to do all my sites today, my computer has been having serious fan problem for the last 3 months. Yesterday morning I was clicking along and the motherboard fan started making an aweful racket, then there was a loud "POP", so I shut it down. Called the guys at the computer shop where I bought it (and had it fixed) they said bring it in. So here I am on a 12 year old computer running Windows Millennium, IE 6 and it will not let me install half of my clicking programs; ie RoboForm, FireFox, The PaidHelp. I did install the Host fix, before I started and it seems to really help! Thanks Ron! Also I'm so pleased with myself for having made a backup copy of RoboForm, so I have all my passwords! I'll be around, just won't be clicking!

At least you don't have to put up with Windows ME all the time - it's the newest operating system I have! I wouldn't know what its like having more than 128mb of ram...
Still, Windows ME and oder PC's remain perfectly serviceable much of the time (it isn't on speaking terms with iTunes and some other content-download services) if configured correctly. I've used various more-modern (read: much faster) computers when traveling or whatever, but would quickly get bogged down (or even lock up) when trying to do paid links or surf a traffic exchange, due to all the popups, scripts, and various "nasties" that get blocked on my Windows ME machine (Adblock, Noscript, etc.). I can actually do better at home on the (far slower, obsolescent) old HP.

Before I did the HOST fix on this machine it was so slooow! LOL! Now its not half bad! But hubby will kill me if I change to many things! I had XP home on my machine and I miss it! LOL! I can't even get an older version of FireFox to install. I should be happy that I can get online!

I just reached the host and I'll be paying the hosting annually rather than monthly. That way, should my puter ever take a dump on me again, the site will still be here when I return. One less thing for all f us to worry about as I ain't goin nowhere and this should help dispel any rumors to the contrary.
