Well there are some things we may just not like about Christmas or whatever you may call the holiday period. Give us your "beef" but be nice now, as to what you do not like about this holiday time of year.
I will get the ball started with this:
The endless commercials aimed at the children, even on the PBS affiliate station, who then in turn want everything they see!! Then when they get it hardly even play with or use it!! And just how awfully expensive some of these things can be! Call me old fashioned or just old, but whatever happened to simple things like Etch-a-Sketch or even Lite Brite. I know they still make them but can they even compete with a Bratz doll or a top dollar video game system?
What gets your Bah Humbug dander up?

Christmas shoppers and shopping. I detest shopping anyway, but going shopping for Christmas and having to weave between people drives me nuts. People act like it's the first time they've ever been Christmas shopping.

The way Christmas carols start playing in stores the day after Thanksgiving. By mid-December, I'm sick of them.

You can never find any parking anywhere and it sucks when the store you want to go to is at the mall so you're stuck having to go there even though you're not going there to xmas shop.

I was REALLY proud of my 9 year old this Christmas. She got a Play Station 2 and a ton of games from her Nana and Papa and told them to take it back. She said she'd rather play outside and not be inside playing video games! aa.gif

The biggest bummer of all about Christmas for me is working in a retail store. Christmas cheer goes completely out the window by December 20th or so, it's a mad-house by Christmas Eve, customers act as is you shouldn't be allowed your lunches or breaks, employees can't find parking places to go to work, you can't get through the store to the freakin' time clock, and customers leave stuff anywhere and everywhere in the store. All of it has to be put back and you never know if the EggNog you found in the dog food aisle or the pimento cheese you found in the clothing department are ok or should be claimed out and trashed.

Other than that, I LOVE Christmas. It was great watching Lillian's eye's light up this year when she found all the arts and crafts stuff Santa brought her. She's made a million suncatches, bouncy balls, and erasers, as well as decorating her messenger bag and starting her scrapbook. I made sure Santa brought her things we could work on together, and we've had a lot of fun with all this stuff!
