I am currently the owner of a new traffic exchange with a planned January 1st launch date. I will offer cash incentives (commissions). Can anyone give any advice on getting an online business license, like where I go to get one? Will it be necessary to get member's SS# in case more than $600 is earned within the year? I really would like to avoid that, if possible. People do not like to give out that info, especially online.

Any help, advice or just a push in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks.

No idea what country you are from so it is hard to get into specifics

Firstly you don't need a license to run a business online, if you wish you can register your business or company and then it is up to you where you run it from.

I am in the US. I see you are from Australia. Do you know the specifics for the US? I plan to offer commission payments, and I know that I must, at the very least, register with the IRS (1099 and the like).

Can anyone guide me in the proper direction? Thanks.

Depends where you live some places require you to get license to operate home based business and others do not. Best way to find answer is call your local government and ask them.
