Hello,

Though I've been a member of GetPaidForum for some time I'm feeling the urge to issue my own introduction and truly embrace the community just now. First, let me tell you a bit about myself.

My name is WesleyB and I've been a professional PC / network technician, system administrator, and programmer since the '80s. I am an avid technology fan and have always been a compulsive technical manual reader (when the other kids were out playing I was usually curled up with a good juicy MS-DOS manual - way back then.)

My professional career has gone though several iterations of titles since my late teens such as Live Sound Audio Engineer, 16-node BBS (Bulletin Board System - (pre-internet)) System Administrator, Telephony Application Developer, and PC Repair Store Technician & Retail Manager.

Lately I've been on my own in a freelance capacity developing and administering web sites as my passion and self-directed "job". I've collected quite a large network of popular, informative, and (last but not least) lucrative domains/sites over the years.

I now spend most of my time parked in front of a PC tweaking this, enhancing that, adminning that over there, reading and writing forum messages ai.gif

I've only just now discovered the value of this particular little forum community and I look forward to sharing with you all in the spirit of a mutually beneficial relationship.

Hey WesleyB!

What a pleasure it always is to meet a fellow techi, so glad your out of the wood work. Better late then never, huh!? I only just introduced myself here earlier this year.

I hail from a little island in the south pacific called New Zealand. Computers became a passion for me back in 1983, I was a gangly, yet spirited young lad with a passion for education, life and D&D (Dungeons and Dragons).

Hehe! That's about all I can post for now but I hope to see you around more often.

...best regards for the future!

Yea, I was a big MS-DOS fan back then. I knew all the internal and external dos commands by heart (including the proper "switches") I was a total guru of MS-DOS batch language and if anyone wanted a complicated batch file (including error checking) the would come to me be.gif

Yea, I played D&D a few times though it got boring and pointless to me after a while - depending upon the DM. My specialty as a "thief-acrobat" was to survive most of the encounters by scurrying up the nearest tree at the slightest noise (and then saving all my buddies in the party after they were getting their arses kicked.)

Yes, a pleasure making your acquaintance and - see you around.
