i need to share this it can be pretty nasty to read


Today when i went to work like all other days. I meet up with my workmate Casper. All was good we was doing our daily rutine, checking our equipment and the tools we use for work.
We started working 8:30 all fine the music was loud and we had our self some laughs. When we went to the roof of a building we worked on, we started placeing the cable we worked with, for some hours all was fine, we decided to take a lunchbreak for 30 minutes and work on after that. we never should have.
please do not read any more if you dont like talk about blood and such unplesant stuff

When i went to the buildings first floor to get ready to split up 2 cables (like i have done over 1000 times before) i had my tools with me - lights, knife , cable cutter and other stuff. I sad down and took out my knife the cable was laying on the floor. I saw that Casper had secured the first cable with 2 safety strips. I took up my knife and cutted of the first one.
then all hell broke loose
the knife slipped on the safety strip and over into my finger. The knife cut thru me like i was butter it went 3CM into my finger. I was so scared at this point since my finger started bleeding uncontrolled, at this point i took what i could get and pressed down on my finger.
Casper was looking down and went all white in the face, i got very worried i could't feel anything other then a burn in my hand over the finger i had cut open. We went down to the ground level, and both of us ran the fastest we could to a medical box with pressur binds and other helpfull stuff. we made a pressur blockade at the open wound. then we ran to our car, and drove of the Herlev hospital when i entered the emegency room at the hospital, the nurse was looking at me like i was stupid standing there with my right hand held up over my head.
She took my Social ID, then i was advised to see the doctor within 5 minutes. the first 2 nurses would't remove the pressur blockade then a old school nurse came and smiled took it of and placed my hand in water stopped the bleeding within 30sec. When the doctor came he said i was lucky, i could have lost the feeling in the finger if i had cut just 0.3cm more. he cleaned the wound like and sticted my finger back up.
now i'm back home i've talked with my workplace, they fully understand that i have taken some time of atlest tomorrow.

If you read so far i hope you understand how dangerous knifes can be even for people using them daily. please take care dont be a stupid fool like me, i didt place my own safety first allways do this.
