Are there actually legit work at home jobs out there?
danasurvey
Many of the opportunities are not traditional types of jobs. But there are a lot of ways to make decent money online. Just do your research and avoid paying any up front fees.

I currently work from home doing call center. There are company's that hire telecommuters, it's just about knowing the resources to find them. Rat Race Rebellion is a great site for work at home job leads and companies that hire telecommuters. Good luck.

Most of the sites which provide work at home jobs charge fees. I do not like them due to this. It is good to find freelance jobs rather than work at home jobs. You can find freelance jobs at GetAFreeLancer.com.

there are a lot of legit work from home jobs, depends on what you are interested in doing and where you're from. i can see you;re from the US, so you can try chacha.com, KGB.com or Google quality rater (search for it on Google). there are also a number of texting jobs available, and the most reliable is a call center from home. just make sure you don't have to pay for anything, real work at home jobs don't ask for any payments. if you want more jobs feel free to PM me, no referral links cause real jobs also don't use ref links (except maybe chacha and i don't work there)

Yup there are actually sites that do pay. It's probably not going to be a ton of cash but the extra money every month comes in handy to pay a couple bills and what not! It's a great source of income instead of a part time job and having to go outside..

ChaCha is a legit online job.
You answer questions the "information-seekers" ask using their cell phones and get paid for every answer.
You do have to provide them with your SS# (and bank account number if you want the money deposited there), but that is the norm with dealing with an employer who's going to "direct deposit" your check for you.

Sure there are ways of making a little extra money online but as far as work at home, it depends on what country you are from. You have to remember, that if you can do it from home, so can someone in a country like Sri Lanka or India where they'll do it for far less. I belong to a few freelance programmer sites since I have been working on a computer science degree and the bids that are placed are really low compared to the work involved. The most you could hope for is a job that allows you to work from home part of the time but face-to-face meetings are mandatory.

That is true! Do you think it would work from the Mexican boarders??

There are few ones.search out and you will find them.many of them are free.

I'm sure there are a few, but there are also millions of people looking for every one out there and each one is willing to work for a little less than the last one just to get the job. Why fight with the crowds when making money online can be so much easier and there is room for everyone that wants to learn how to make it work. I would much rather put in 10 minutes a day on my own schedule than have some job that ties me down anyway.

They don't allow us to be too specific here or post links other than in a sig line. I only do one major program online and everything else is to enhance that one.

Basically what I do is buy advertising that pays rebates and keep rolling it over until it get big enough to siphon off a little more each week. Then I use feeder programs to get spurts of income I can feed in to make it grow even faster. I have been doing this with money I earn online only since last December and have over $10,000 I get rebates on every week.

Nobody can work for ChaCha if not living in the US, and having the proper authorization to work here. It's a job!
Web Prodigy
The jobs are in abundance. You need to search properly. Even, freelancing jobs pay you a very good amount. This will also fulfill your requirement of being at home.
taztheone
There are many home based jobs which you can do. However there are a lot of scam sites & remember not to invest money anywhere for getting any job.
The best way to get some job is by working as a freelancer. getacoder, scriptlance, getafreelancer gives you some great opportunities. Also you can try amazone murq(www.mturq.com) which gives you some option to get paid by completing offers.

I like ODesk and ReviewStream

Yeah there are but many of them require experience and a resume or it's one of those telecommuting jobs that needs you to be calling or needed special equipment. That's what I get from looking for online jobs. I have no experience for them and I'm not a big phone person so that knocks a lot out for me. The few that find that don't require stuff like experience tend to be full and not hiring. It's not as easy as it sounds. There's a lot of competition out there. In my 2 years of searching and applying I have yet to get hired for a job. Might be easier for you depending on what you're willing to do and your experience.
