Below is some correspondence that I have sent regarding a payment I made for advertising at gptr.paidntrade.com I'm very upset that I have been totally ignored by this WM. I responded to an advertising by this person in another program. I sent my money; I sent my ad; I've not received a response to any of my requests for either new advertising or a refund of my money.

I didn't purchase the guarantee from PayPal so am not sure there is anything I can do. If anyone knows this person, please ask her to contact me. I'm sure we can work something out.

Subject: Advertising

Earlier today I sent a PayPal payment of $10.00 to purchase a solo ad to all your membership.  I then sent the ad copy via your website.  I have not heard from you since sending this payment and advertisement.  Because of the time limit involved in this offer, if you are unable to run this ad by 8 pm, Tuesday, April 29, 2003, please refund the $10.00 to my PayPal account.

Thank you
Some may not feel that $10.00 is a lot to lose, but it is for me.

$10 would be a lot to me as well...

But I dont see how this would not come under the guarantee with Paypal since you did purchase a product (that being advertising) and havent received that product as yet. I would be contact Paypal and asking them about your options, maybe doing a reversal on it since you did make the purchase.

PayPal considers advertising as a "non-tangible digital good" and therefore will only write to the seller and inform them of a complaint. If the seller doesn't voluntarily return the money, then PayPal won't do anything since their buyer complaint process doesn't apply to non-tangibles.

Use the buyer complaint process and fill in the transaction number and copy the emails you've sent. They'll send a letter to the seller. It takes 30 days.

I was surprised to learn this about PayPal, but I learned the hard way when I had the same problem with paidemail.net. Fortunately, he refunded the money I had paid for the ad.

That means Paypal is also "non-tangible" since you cant touch them ab.gif

Thing is, if Paypal sees it as being that, then the should stop people selling electronic books and such, since they are the same, "non-tangible". But if they think advertising and such is non-tangible, or something that cant be touched, then they really need to think about it a lot more, specially since we live in an electronic age.

They don't care if you buy/sell non-tangibles, they just won't protect you if you get defrauded for them.

If the purchase has been funded by a credit card, however, you do have another option. Issue a chargeback through the CC company. This is almost guaranteed to get your money back, but PayPal most likely won't want to deal with you any more.

This surprises me.
I've had nothing but good experiences with gptr.paidntrade.com

PayPal is reimbursing my account. I didn't think my complaint would do much of anything except put out an alert. I was pleasantly surprised to find this in my email tonight.
