He/she didnt change my password and I wouldnt have even known had I not got an email from Mike saying he paid me

I didnt get my usual notice from Paypal so I signed into my acount at Mikes and someone hacked it and changed the payment to egold

Why this is happening? I am really sorry DGE that you lost your account. What was the egold number of the hacker. You can know from Mike and them email e-gold. I'm sure they'll help.

IF by chance I do redeem for egold he always writes me first and verifies that I am redeeming for egold and includes the #

I think all webmasters that pay in egold should verify if possible with the person first before sending payment

I absolutely REFUSE in any of my sites to pay out in egold and this is exactly why. It attracks cheaters and egold really doesnt do much to help with problems. At least at PayPal you can reverse payment

Yes thats true I didnt think about that...geez I dont know what to say other then it appears that the hackers only change to egold when its possible. THATS why egold will never be on option at any of my sites

I think if enough complaints with supporting data are sent to e-gold, then they will probably do something about it, at a minimum freeze the account and not allow this person to open another one...

Is the e-gold account the same as the one who hacked Monica?

This is exactly why I am about ready to completely give up on e-gold. I am sick and tired of these hackers. And e-gold does NOTHING about it.

I also think the owners of E-Gold are a bunch of theives, because earlier this month, when I had some e-gold, I made quite a few payments. A few days later, I had 3 people email me and tell me they never received payment. When I checked the e-gold log, the payment amounts didn't show up at all on the days that I know for a fact I made those payments. I think the e-gold owners are also stealing our money.

I'm getting sick of it.

I know if I ban e-gold, there is going to be a huge backlash at my site, but I can't afford to keep losing money from e-gold themselves, much less hackers.

To keep myself safe from hackers, everytime I have even a dollar in e-gold, I immediatly move it to an account that I have never published publically.

Yes I agree with you Kimberley. I understand that some of your members would be upset and actually I feel bad for the honest members that have to use egold but at least now there are other options like MoneyBookers for one

Also people have asked me why I hadnt redeemed at Mikes and let $150 sit in there. I had redeemed and was waiting just a little over a month for payment.

I dont know how many of you go to the edit info area and check regularly to see if anything had been changed but I dont..it never crossed my mind. But it will now..lol

This person did not change my password so I really didnt have a reason to check to see if anything was wrong

I would like to help by looking for that account in my server list. But, before I do that could you get the webmaster from Mikes to post here with a confirmation that there was indeed a spend to that account and a batch number? Also, it would be nice if the webmaster from Mike's acknowledges there was a hacking?

On a side note, it really isn't E-Gold's fault for Mikes's getting hacked. It is Mike's fault for not keeping your account there secure and it is also Mike's fault because the required payout maximuim is so high. There is no reason why Mike's should be holding that much of your money. All the webmaster's that hold client money should expect to be required to accept the liability of an unsecure account.

Well, it is e-gold's fault that three of my transactions aren't showing up in my logs, and the money never made it where it was supposed to go, but it disappeared out of my account. I made good on those three, however. It was only a little amount of money, but it adds up when it keeps happening.

Yes, there are honest e-gold members. Yes, I feel bad for them.

However, it's not secret that e-gold is a haven for cheaters, hackers, and liars. There are a lot of them there. One account gets frozen, e-gold just lets them sign up for another one. You're e-gold account gets hacked, the money stolen, and instead of helping, e-gold just says, "It's your fault. Tough." That's when your e-gold account gets hacked, not your PTR account. And e-gold accounts get hacked A LOT!

The dollar amount was $135.00. If you didn't change it than it had to have been hacked. But i'm not sure if thats all you need for confirmation.

If someone doesnt believe thats from Mike I have the headers to the email. Just dont see why I need to post Mikes info (its his personal addy I think) in public. But I do have the headers

oh wow thats just shocking dge i stayed up late last nite and changed 99% of my passwords..

Ive had problems with egold before gold salary had said that i had a limit on my account there so i emailed gold salary.. They called me to discuss what gold salary said.. There was never a limit on my account so gold salary was fibbing ... Now i have one egold just for them just in case..

Yes i think its bad that with egold you can have as mulitple accounts.

From now on even for random payouts to egold im going to email the members first.. Its a headache but its better safe then sorry. And my members are much more important to me then a darn headache..

Thanks sierra. Well I had redeemed for Paypal...99% of the time and 100% of the time at Mikes I redeem for Paypal NOT egold. I had been waiting on payment like I said and had no clue this hacker changed my info


I know there isnt much that can be done. I just wish perhaps Mike would have gotten a clue about the egold account because #1 I always redeem in PP #2 I always buy ads from him in PP. I hardly ever ever deal with egold.

Just a warning to other webmasters I still think before you make payment especially from people you know cash out alot (like I do at Mikes) and it appears to be a different payment method check with the person. I mean this hacker just became $135 richer
