Hi everybody,

I posted this in general discussion but I thought this is a more appropriate place for this:

I just saw that when I click somebody's Donkey PTP they get credited only 0.05 credits (which is treated as CREDIT DEFAULT in PTP stats- less than a Tier 4 country). And I don't get credited at one of the BUX sites: after the timer loads the ad and is about to credit me it shows a crossed IP. This is happening for less than 24 hours and has never happened to me before- I have Cable modem that I have been using for years now (@ the same ISP).

So there's something wrong with my IP and I have no idea what!! Anybody has any idea?

Thank you

did you try rebooting to see if you can get a different ip? I just checked your ME account and your ip has definitely changed and not just a little. I have cable and although my ip is supposed to stay the same it does change occasionally but usually only the last two digits. the ip you signed up at ME with starts with 89 though and the ip you logged in with today started with 94 so you've been moved to a completely different ip block ah.gif

Thanks for checking that. I got a reply from one of the sites and my new IP is totally different now ar.gif and they won't allow me to click their ads any more. I just called my ISP and they told me that there's no way to change my IP back to the old one ah.gif

Could this cause any more troubles that I'm not aware of?

EDIT: I left my modem switched off overnight and my IP hasn't changed...

well I'd like to say it won't be a problem but as you've already found out some sites will make it an issue. did the site that contacted you back say what exactly was the problem with your new ip. for any site that doesn't allow any changes there's not much you can do if your isp says there's no way to get your old ip # back but if the problem is only with ips that start with 94 maybe your isp has a different block they can move you to.

only thing I can saw for certain is it won't be an issue at ME aa.gif

Thank you very much for your support and replies!
This bux site (I don't even know why does it bother me LOL) said they allow logging in and clicking ads only if it always from the same IP! I don't really get it, but seems like that one is off of my list...

@ the ISP I've been told that IPs are being assigned automatically and there's nothing they can do about it.

IMHO, any site that says that you MUST use the same IP address at all times, is in the stone-age technology wise, as it's obvious they have zero understanding of how the internet works. If you are on DSL for example, and you have a power failure, your IP is going to change when you get power back and the modem reboots.

They can easily see, if they care to look, that your sign up IP and your current IP belong to the same ISP and that they have set blocks of I ranges to choose from. They can also see that the "new" IP is not only in the range that the ISP uses, but that it's also in the same geographic location as to you.

In other words, they're dummies, and I'd not do any more business with them. They get a big FAIL from me. az.gif

I got booted out of PayingCents b/c the PO claimed I was using a VPN IP. It's the same SBC/AT&T account I've had for the last 4 or 5 years. He would not listen to reason. It is a dynamic IP. He said when I rebooted, that it was really someone in another country using my account. ao.gif

Even after other PO's verified it was my regular ISP account. Sheesh.

And that's where it becomes necessary to deal only with companies that have people who know what they are doing. Having someone in that position and they have no idea how the IP and ISP system works, is simply ridiculous. ai.gif
