I've been accused of selling my account by VPN or having a VPN account. I tried to read up on it, but it bored me to death. Too much going on with me with my mother dying week before last.

Anyways, my husband spoke to AT&T forever today. Tech support sent him to someone else who gave him a long commercial and tried to get him to sign up for stuff and then sent him back to tech support. They talked him through a bunch of settings checks and said we are already set up as a normal IP and not VPN, but the program in question called me a liar.

Why would I show up as VPN if I don't have that kind of account.Would it have anything to do with the bad virus my computer had a couple of weeks ago? How do I fix it. AT&T had me go into my email account and make sure the POP3 setting was pop.att.yahoo.com and smpt.att.yahoo.com which it was. They said that is the correct setting.

So, how do I fix it if I don't know what it is and I don't understand it.

Also, whenever PayingCents would change to a forbidden page, I'd shut everything off and restart and it would come back up. BIll says this isn't true, but it is what I did. Apparently, he was blocking any IP that came up from my computer.

VPN how does it work ?

short version.

Client PC --->VPN modem routing in/out via a sercure encrypted connection called <----Tunnel Network----> VPN modem routing in/out to main server.

Depending on VPN setting on your computer and server if IP adr or range is disallowed you cant visit the sites with the IP's

I'm not 100% sure, but this is what i know about VPN.

VPN is just a way to hide your true IP from programs that are not up to date or capable to read your true IP. A member from a non tier 1 country can route through a VPN in a tier 1 counrty and show as a tier 1 user to most lets say "click sites".
VPN is detectable.
