For some reason, I can never connect via my wireless card. I am currently on a trip and can't hook up with my new computer even though it has a good quality card in it.

Cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

When I boot up my computer, it picks up the available wireless connections. I choose one and it will "connect" but it says "Local only". I can't get to the internet with it. Right now,
I'm on dial-up and it's making me crazy.

I am on Vista and have IE7; Firefox; and Crazybrowser.

What I've tried:
Turning off the firewall just to see if that was blocking it.
Turning off all antispyware again, just to see.
Checked internet security settings
Tried to check the wireless configuration folder in control panel, but it won't load - says the configuration is inconsistent and to restart computer. Doesn't help.

Someone, anyone, PLEASE tell me what to do.

I gave up. Since I've only had the computer about 4 weeks, I just did a restore back to the day I started using it. Now it catches the wireless just fine. Of course, I'm having to re-install a bunch of stuff. Just re-did most of my message rules. ba.gif
