I just received that email also, even though I'm from the Us, I still believe that it's wrong to do that, your country doesn't always reflect how you feel.

I just wrote him a private email, asking about the ban and why these countries..cause I can't believe it is political.

Especially when some of these countries are probably bringing him in lots of money and people to his program.

I am Canadian and not against any Nation or Country and especially not USA, I find it ironic that webmaster would do this and my question is why??

I don't think it's fair and nothing to do with politics just to take money from us.

If he doesn't want us anymore in his program, I feel he should pay us first and then he can delete us.

I am trying not to make any rash comments regarding this issue. However, as a Canadian and an honest member, I can't help but feel angered and disappointed over this. Not only do I not have any control over my country's decision over the war with Iraq, I didn't even vote for the current government. I am, however an honest member of every program I belong to and don't feel I should be penalized because I was born and raised here. I could have requested payout some time ago, but held off because I know it's a lot of work for a couple of pennies. I'm thinking now I should have gotten my money while I could.

On a similar note, has anyone else heard of this boycott? I'm just wondering if I should expect to lose all of the money I've worked for in programs simply for being Canadian. I beg you, if you think this is wrong, please speak up, because I'd hate to think I'm the only person who thinks this is unreasonable.

Again, I am trying not to make rash deciaions regarding Welk, as I have spoken to him on other occasions and he seemed very nice. I just hope this isn't as it seems.....

He made this boycott up because he's hurting for money - it's a scam. Every day he's begging for searches on his stupid joke pages. That's about all he has going now.

I wrote him much of what others have said, and asked if was going to ban American members who didn't support Bush. His reply was "if you are peeved with this, withdraw." And let him keep my measly earnings? I think not.

I also asked him if he was going to return the money that members from these countries have spent on advertising with him. His reply - "What advertising?"

Oh, here we go - another reply. "cash out - you're done." Let's see if he lets me cash out.

People, I would advise you to get whatever you can before this ship sinks.

I am totally in shock! I'm also angry enough to say what I think about welk1. I will resist because... because... I don't want to hurt his feelings. Can you believe that?

I am an American Citizen and thanks to wars fought previously, no one has the right to tell me that I have to support the war in Iraq. I love this country very much and one of the reasons why is because we have freedom to think and say what we believe.

I will say that welk1 is not a businessman. I clicked his 3 search links tonight (because his twins are graduating) and didn't bother to request the 10? he offered since it was more bother than it was worth. His jokes are becoming more and more tasteless and I despise being told it's okay to scratch my butt but not to pick my nose.

I've been debating saying goodbye to this program but hesitated to lose my little downline. Welk1, you can keep my money. And you can keep your boycott - good luck finding support except for from some close-minded people.

To the countries listed in Welk1's little boycott, I am embarrassed by this American's behaviour but please know that you are more than welcome in my heart anytime.

P.S. If I have offended any members with this outburst, please let me know. My heart is pounding in anger right now and I may have been too rude.

well I just did a quick search and this site is the only one I can find that has a "boycott" for the war. and its about the French. Where they want the U.S. to boycott french food and french fries.

Personal veiws of webmasters should not come into it...its the members that make a program....as welk1 will find out when he hasnt got any left.

This is from one of his search mails; note that France, Germany and Canada are okay with him when they're earning him search income. Naturally he'll return that money to the search engines since it's so offensive to him - yea right.

Maybe he didn't get enough money from sending his dear old mum flowers for mothers day. So he doesn't have the money to pay anyone. Well he got my money that he kept.

Why on earth would I want to delete myself? So that he can feel okay about stealing the money I earned from him?

I'm sorry--I am generally extremely patient with PTR programs and their ups and downs, but I am beyond furious about this. I spent a lot of time clicking links for this program and earning money that the advertisers will pay to welk no matter whether he pays me or not, and I find it unconscionable that he would withhold our earnings from us based on something so arbitrary and out of our control as a country's choice of political moves on the international front.

As far as I can see, by keeping the money we earned for him from the advertisers in good faith, he is committing fraud and theft.

This is about the dumbest thing I've ever seen a webmaster pull.

Within the minute I got an autorespond starting with "relax, yes you, pan23". He isn't even reading our freaking emails. What a jerk.

But does he have the right to freeze and/or outright steal members' earnings? He says it's only until the "boycott" is over , but since it appears he made up the boycott himself, what sense does that make?

And he'll lift the ban on Canada if they buy paid ads? Wow, what a hypocrite.

I also think the timing is suspicious; the war has been over for weeks now. Why would he do this now, out of the blue? The time to do this would have been DURING the way, not weeks after. There's more to this than meets the eye.

i think this really stinks. i am an american patriot whole heartedly but this is too much. next will it be if you have friends in one of these countries you are out too? people are here to try to make some extra funds not to be political. this gives my country, the good ol' u.s.a., a black eye if you ask me. people from other countries that did not support the war in iraq should not be punished for the acts of their governments. and what the heck does buying advertising have to do with being a member of a program? it seems to me that we make the webmasters money by clicking on ads and it's a bonus to them when we purchase ads.

As a US citizen, I am highly offended by this man's behavior.
Yes, he has a right to his opinion, but this is just TOO much.
Welk has gone over the edge, and probably doomed his site and whatever reputation he had in the process.
I'm also offended as a webmaster.
Everytime a webmaster pulls a stupid stunt, it hurts all of us.
