Do you really think the senate and house have that much control over gas prices?? Gas like every thing else works off the rule of supply and demand. When we stop demanding so much gas to run our gas guzzling SUV's then the price will go down.

Pricing of a barrel of oil is not set by our government, it is set by the suppliers and is done on a global scale. We are not the only country that buys their oil and the demand in other countries is on the rise.

I just heard on CNN that President Bush has given permission for the troops to go into Pakistan, with or without Pakistan's permission Guess 2 wars are not enough for this ######.

If John McCain is not our next president I thank Georgia should leave the union. Personally too bad can not vote for George Bush for 3rd term. I hate voting for McCain but George Bush not on ticket and since GOP has a G and Georgia has a G I always vote GOP.

Yes, Sarah Palin is an excellent speaker, I will give her that. Of course you do have to be comfortable in front of a crowd to do the beauty pagenent circuit. The contestants are judged on how posed and well spoken they are. But have you noticed how uncomfortable McCain is standing next to her? He smiles and waves in all the right places, but if you watch his body language you will see that he is unconformable and would rather be anywhere than there.

As for the affair and tabloid issue, I agree those mags are sleazy and I haven't brought one in years but a lot of what they print is true. While I don't agree with the stories they choose to print I must admit that they do seem to do their homework - and they often win the lawsuits against people who try to sue them. They broke the news of John Edwards affair long before any other media outlets had any idea and while Edwards tried to deny it for a long time he eventually broke down and confessed.


BTW, if anyone is interested John McCain is going to be on the view tomorrow morning. I am looking forward to it, I don't think these women will cut him any slack on his views towards women's rights. At least I don't think they will, I will be very disappointed if they do. I think this should be very informative.

I actually thanking of voting for Obama for day until saw McCain's pick. Oh well was looking forward to voting for someone without an R for first time. Guess there in 2010.

Obama just doesn't get it, and it shows.

*Obama cannot invade Pakistan without justifying Russia invasion of Georgia. (the world will look down on this move, as the Russians attacked because of terrorist, and we didn't approve, so backlash there).
*Healthcare is a non issue and will never get past the senate. To many people have there own idea's and nothing will get done.
*Ending the war... He won't end the war, just move where the fight is.
*Said troop surge won't work in Afghanistan, but yet wants to send more troops there.

His economy policy won't work
*Taxing people over 250k and giving rebates to lower income workers.
-side effect is those lower income workers won't get raise, but wages will drop, since the government will be sending them their raise, and the raise will go to the higher income people to offset the higher taxes.

*Taxing Oil company's to give rebates to people.
-side effect, higher oil prices, as those taxes will be passed throw to the people getting the rebates.
- In 2 years Electric Cars will be the in thing for rich people.


So why is McCain a Good choice for president? He's a POW! Spend years going no where, so he'll be a pro at weathering the economy for the next 2 years while it goes no where...

Oh my god !! I followed the discussions on this forum four years ago, when Bush got elected a second term, although all other continents were against Bush, except for the US citizens themselves.

Now I am a bit surprised not to find a hot thread here about today's elections, but I am not happy to find still so many supporters for traumatized McCain.

I early voted and of course I voted for Obama. McCain is just more of the same ole Bush failed policies that need to stop. Hopefully they will after today. The world and a lot of USA citizens sure hope so.

McCain has the support of "Big Banks" Pointing to JPM's efforts to help people keep their homes, and if you notice, no other banks are following yet.

JPM is doing what McCain wants to do with the approved 700B package(part of it).

Obama is offering people money, but that money is going directly back to rich people. Poor will still be poor.

McCain is nothing more then Bush with a different name.

We had pre-voting in our county all last week, the lines were several hours long at all the pre-voting places every single day. I voted by absentee ballot because I baby sit my granddaughter every day and no way am I going to stand in line for several hours with a 21 month old. I went yesterday to turn in my absentee ballot and even had to stand in line to do that - only for about 15 minutes but I was still shocked at the number of people turning in absentee ballots. My daughter voted on the say to work this morning and stood in line for an hour, she got there really early however. She said the line was really backing up when she came out. I think this may be one of the largest voter turnouts in recent history. People really have strong feelings about this election. I think things could be really close- but I hope not like the 2000 election close. I'm not sure what would happen now if we had something like that happen.

I could not vote for Obama though as when wanted to could not by time could my weak moment had passed. Our economy can only go up and when it does Obama will get credit. OMG, Obama is not the Anti-Christ for heaven's sake. It is just another one of those off the wall comments the Republicans started in the beginning of the election. Just like the one that he is also a Muslim. They are way wrong on both accounts.

I don't think Obama is the Antichrist either. And there are several signs of the antichrist that people are overlooking. One of them is that the antichrist will be of Roman decent. Obama may be a mutt (his own words), but I don't think he is of Roman descent. Another is that the antichrist will not appear until after the rapture of the church.
