Today's admin mail stated that banner sizes are limited to 486 x 60; just to confirm, this is in pixels, right? And it's length x height, so the size is something shaped like a long carpet?

Use Photobucket to host your banners.
When you have it there and want to send the banner info to any WM just copy the 2nd line of computer speak into the banner url box. Then you will have no problem getting your banner seen and Ron or any other WM will not have any problems with it.
