Okay, I got suckered into ReadPay, just because I wanted to see how they would manage to send out $2.00 emails -yea, right. That was on May 5, and no emails in sight. So today I get this snotty letter from the webmaster talking about how some people are getting thousands of dollars a day from their thousands of referrals, and the rest of us are "slacking." Anyone else have any experience with this one? He claims his top referrer has 3000 referrals. It looks as if you don't get emails if you don't have referrals. Actually, it looks like a scam. Here's the letter from him; would appreciate your comments:

"To all members,

Some of the members have done very well with Readpay in the last 3 months. These are the members that have been accumulating as much as $1000 per day in click commission because they have each referred 1000 people on average to Readpay. Their referrals have done a good job of clicking on links and following directions. The top Readpay member has referred 3000 new members to Readpay in the last 3 months by posting messages to online bulletin boards, chat rooms, and newsgroups.

To those of you who are doing well, we say congratulations.

We have some major announcements to make. We have good news and bad news:

1. The Bad News:

Members will be limited to earning a maximum of $1200 per day. This includes your clicks plus the commissions you earn from referral's clicks as well.

2.The Good News:

Members who have consistently earned $500 or more per day for any past 7 consecutive days between February 1, 2003 to May 13, 2003 will receive all of the following gifts:

A. Apple Ipod Mp3 player.
B. Nokia 3650 video cell phone.
D. Canon PowerShot S400 Digital camera.
C. Two tickets to see Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera in concert this summer at the city nearest their home address.

All of the members who fit the criteria to receive the prizes will be contacted via email on how to make arrangements to accept their prizes.

3. All earnings will now be paid to all Members via Paypal. Paypal is a Free money receiving service. If you do not already have a paypal account, cut and paste the following link into your browser to sign up:
www.paypal.com/affil/pal=feedback%40readpay.com

To the rest of you, please step it up. Some of you have been slacking.

Some of you have seen a slowdown in the amount of emails you've been receiving. The reason is that a few months ago the software running Readpay was redesigned to weed out those Members who do not click on emails. Furthermore, those individuals who have more referrals get more emails. We believe it is a fair system that is designed to reward those who work harder. You must continue to work by clicking on emails and following directions contained within the email. If you do this, you will get more emails. Also, if you refer other people to Readpay, you will receive email more emails and earn more money overall. 6 months ago, I could not imagine that some members would be able to earn as much as $1000 per day. Now, this is a reality. These members will continue to be rewarded. Add yourself to the list by putting in a little more effort.

Readpay will be expanding into online/offline promotions that will allow you to earn more money overall. How would you like to be part of a group that decides what videos gets played on the three main video television channels(MTV, VH1 or BET)? Soon, we will be booking clients that will want our members to call the MTV hotline to request videos. Remember, Readpay does not make money unless its members make money. The more money you make, the more money Readpay makes. Have fun with Readpay.

I wrote him too, let him know what incredibly poor PR that is to restrict paid mails to people bringing in referrals. Personally, I think it's a bunch of crap. Sure would love to hear from one of these people making a thousand a day ac.gif

I signed up ReadPay on May 5, too, and for the same reason - $2 per email? Where are they going to get people to spend that? However, just for the laughs (and possible income), I signed it up. Then I got that snotty letter (quoted above). That is the ONLY letter which I have received from ReadPay at all!

If they ARE sending emails, you would think that they would TRY sending them to new members. Of course, that could be hard - as I said, who is going to PAY $2 per email?

As to their claim that you get more emails if you have more referrals - HAH! If anything, those are the people who need the emails the least! Since they are getting referral earning percentages on top of their own earnings, this is just a decision to reward people who are sitting on their laurels. I mean, how can you recommend a program, if the program won't work WITH you to help you to help them (by sending emails)? Come on, let's be reasonable!
6stringer
Personally, I think it's just a load of bull. I don't think ANYONE from that program is making $1000 a day.

i dont believe anyone in any ptr is making 1000 dollars a day its impossible
BellaD
I think we have another Nitroclicks on the horizon!!! ( There was another program with a name similar to ReadPay.....can't remember it exactly but I thought this was the same program. Apparently not. I have been a member since 99 and have about $29 in it. Definitely not any $2 emails !)
CindyD0219
I too joined Readpay, promoted it and have 24 referrals. And of course none of my referrals have earned anything either or at least I have not earned anything from them. I am still at ZERO DOLLARS.

The only email I have EVER received was the email about the $1,000 day bit!

I wrote to the webmaster or support one and to date still have not received a reply.

I too think it must be a scam but why go thru the expense of paying for a domain name, scripts and whatever else to just have people sign up?

I would love to hear from ANYONE that has made ANY MONEY at all from this place!! ANYONE - ANYONE?
MAHarmon
I too only received that email..... Makes no sense that you have to have referrals to "qualify" for emails. I picked up 4 referrals today and I hope I haven't led them into a scam, ho hum.

That letter ALSO stated that there was a paid link in the email but there WAS NO LINK.

If it IS a scam, and that letter wa filled with lies, I can't even begin to uinderstand the ploy and reason behind it all?!?!?!

Hey, I'll take $1.00 emails if they wanna cut the rate down and SEND SOME! ; ) hee hee

So people who referred thousands of referals earn thousands of dolars from those referals? But he just said that those people at the bottom are not getting mails only those at the top. In that case how those at the top can earn thosands from their "slacking" referals who are not earning anything? Illogical.

Edit: I can't spell.

why would anybody start spending money on promoting a site where you haven't recieved any emails anyways...

Hey People... I Think This ReadPay Guy Deserves to be led out in the Open ad Shot... I wonder if anyones making even $ 0.0001 a day .. ( may be that was a $1000 was a typo.. ae.gif lookz like he put the zero after instead of before )
AHASHIMH
I didn't join Readpay. I'm new to PTR, but how many WM willing to pay more than $0.05 per e-mail. I don't think so. Maybe Readpay will send 40 link in 1 e-mail at $0.05 each, with 30 second timer, U would spend more than 20 minutes per e-mail.
mycology
Sounds like he's trying to get you guys mad and jealous of those big time referrers.
So they can collect up your info and do who know what with.

I saw it come out-couldn't believe it $2 emails? So I'm sure lots of people thought the same thing......

He must have over 10,000 members already, that one guy alone has gotten 3000, and a few have gotten 1000 and the rest of you ain't pullin your weight with your measly 24 refs...lmao.........that would make me quit right there, esp with no $2 emails yet.

Besides if I were to target the mails...they'd be to the ones without huge downlines so they have a chance to make money, and I don't have to rob a few banks in order to pay all 1000 of ya.

Sounds like no good, I hope you guys didn't pay for ads but used redemptions ao.gif

LOL where's he gonna get the money for all those prizes hehe

Well, it's at least comforting to know that other people are being treated with the same amount of service as I have been treated by ReadPay. I was starting to worry I just smelled or something ak.gif

Have only EVER received the quoted email from earlier in the thread and have yet to hear back from the webmaster regarding emails I have sent to them since joining asking where the ###### $2 emails are!

Oh well...they can't all work I suppose.

If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is.

I joined readpay for the same reason as everyone else, curiosity. Joined on May 19.03, recieved 0 mail. I have read the TOS and FAQ and still do not know why. I even sent a nice letter to support asking if I missed something to please tell me so I could rectify it, no response. The statment that you need referrals to get them is no where to be found on the site. If you do need referrals to get the mail, just how many levels do you need? I know for a fact I signed at least 1 person and they show my account as none. I have noticed an increase in the amount of ads I get that I supposedly asked for either directly or though an affilitate. Funny how I don't remember asking for them through any one and always check the privacy policies before joining any group. My theory? readpay is just collecting info and selling it to these people. That way they still get paid without paying.

Hmmmmm.....interesting.

I also have noticed a HUGE increase in SPAM since I joined ReadPay.

I know for a fact that I have not used any safelists or groups or FFA's or signed up for offers using my ReadPay email address.
Yet I have tons of crap filling my inbox several times a day.

I am afraid even if I unsub from ReadPay now, my email has already been sold, so I will still get the spam.
brela101201
Yeah I joined ReadPay about 2 months ago and all I got was the same snotty email everyone else is talking about. Why should we waste our time promoting a program that isn't doing anything for us? And who really advertises on BB's??? I think this is just a way for this ###### WM to harvest email addys . This program definitely sucks and is a SCAM

I joined readpay I never got a single email except the joining confirmation. I found the topic on them in the complaints a while ago then sent them no less than 4 emails of a very polite nature enquiring about the lack of email. Even asked if there was something I possibly missed in the TOS or FAQ. Never got a single reply, until today, AFTER I closed my account last night. Out of shear habit when I close an account of any sort, I go back the next day to confirm it has been closed. I was able to log back in 8 hous ago, clicked on the Close Account link again and went through it all again. The letter I just got is SUSPICIOUS. It claims (*CONTACT US
-On all your questions do not hesitate to contact us at support@readpay.com )
If you go to the site itself, which I am still able to log in at, there is NO SUCH ADDRESS anywhere on it. They did have my account number right on the bottom of it but still...Would you trust it? I never got mail or the credit for a refferal and now they want me to join something through them?
This is the letter:
*****************************************************************

Readpay has signed a new incentive based advertising deal that will put more money into your pocket.

In order to make this a success, we will need your help.

If we show the advertiser that our members will join their Lottery club, the advertiser will commit to advertising for 1 full year to promote 50 other products and services.

Those of you who step up and help make this deal work will get favorable treatment by the Readpay system.

This means that your mail receiving privileges will be changed so that you can start receiving more and more paid emails. You will also get a $0.50 cent increase raise per click, so you will now earn $2.50 per click.

The advertiser is promoting a Lottery Club that buys tickets from the four biggest lotteries in the United States. We need to show them that our members will join the lottery club. We want you to join the Lottery Club.

There is an immediate reward in it for you. There are three ways for you to earn bonus money by joining the lottery club.

1. The first way will insure that $10.00 is deposited into your Readpay account.
2. The second way will insure that $5.00 is deposited into your Readpay account.
3. The third way will insure that $2.50 is deposited into your Readpay account.

If you join the Platinum lottery club subscription, you will get $10.00 deposited to your Readpay account upon confirmation. If you join the Gold Lottery Club subscription, you get $5.00 deposited into your Readpay account upon confirmation. If you join the Silver lottery club subscription you get $2.50 deposited into your Readpay account upon confirmation.

The LotteryPay Club dramatically increases your chances of winning the four largest
Lotteries in the United States by grouping you in with other ticket buyers. LotteryPay does this by using the power of numbers to get an edge on the odds. The two largest lotteries are the Powerball lottery and the MegaMillions lottery. These lotteries routinely reach between $100,000,000 million and $350,000,000 million US dollars. Join LotteryPay Club and collect your fair share when they win the big lotteries.

To join the LotteryPay club and earn your cash now, click on one of the link below:

http://jump.readpay.com/?jid=0-32-116-xxxxx

Remember, those of you who join the Lottery club will receive favorable treatment going forward. Your mail receiving privilege will be changed so that the system sends more emails to you, and you will also get a raise of $0.50 for a grand total of $2.50 per click.

Would YOU trust it?

The "support@readpay.com" address is on the ReadPay site.

I signed up for ReadPay to see how they could afford to send out $2 emails. I found out this was by not sending out any. I had even promoted it a bit, before realising that nothing was happening. I do have one referal (that's 1, not 1 with a bunch of zeros after it ^_~ )
Then one day, I did recieve a $2 email! It was the only one I ever saw, however.
Here is my ReadPay statement:

Monthly Statement (June, 2003)
Balance from last months: $0.00
Plus amount earned in current month: $2.00
Total amount due to you now: $2.00
Letters received this month: 1

Total amount Paid since joining: $0.00
Letters received since joining: 1

And today I got the email posted above, the one about the "LotteryPay club". I have never recieve the email about the people with thousands of referals, and the rest of us slackers. I guess I'm too much of a "slacker" for them to even bother to send me that email.

ar.gif ar.gif

I wouldn't join that LotteryPay thing under normal circumstances, so I definately won't be joining it to get "favourable" treatment from ReadPay. I mean, it's one thing for a PTR to have a "gold" membership program, but to ask your members to join an entirely seperate program?? Craziness.
cybertex2
FYI

READPAY has now 'TEAMED UP' with Lotterypay, but you have to bring in referrals in order to get paid (yeah, right). Anyway, I joined readpay, watched my earnings skyrocket, can't get an email reply, can't get a pay out, am getting out on Friday (I'll give em that long to reply to my request for payout). Anyway, yeah, I think it's a scam, I just wanna hold out for one more day.

READPAY whois info: The phone number listed for readpay.com has been disconnected, the FAX number listed is bogus.

WIREMEDIA whois info: (this is the one you pay to join LOTTERYPAY - the READPAY affiliate) shows the same phone number as READPAY (disconnected).

LOTTERYPAY: Listed in British West Indies, phone number is an answering machine (at least there's something on the other end). I didn't bother leaving a message, didn't figure they'd return the call anyway. Gonna send out an e-mail to the person listed in the whois for lotterypay and see what happens, keep ya posted.

ROFL Here are my readpay stats:

Monthly Statement (July, 2003)
Balance from last months: $300.00
Plus amount earned in current month: $2.00
Total amount due to you now: $302.00
Letters received this month: 1

Total amount Paid since joining: $0.00
Letters received since joining: 1

I've tried getting my $302.00 from them, but the only address on the website that I can get to even go through is the abuse@readpay.com, how appropriate. Every other address on the site (including webmaster@readpay.com) has came back to me as an invalid address. In the membership agreement it says: In case of a dispute as to the amount accrued, the amount shown in your account is final and binding upon you in all respects." so I'm figuring that they have to give me my money or I could take legal action against them.
ekelly
HA! Make a screen shot of your balance and save it. Then send them an email to that "abuse" address telling them you want payout and that you have a screenshot of your account. Remind them of their terms by copying it and pasting it (make a screenshot of that as well for your records).

See what happens....that's what I am going to do.
airyn1
I've done that once, a couple of weeks ago when it was still at $200.00 and before I even received my 1 email. No answer yet. My husband is wanting me to wait a couple more weeks and then contact the FBI
Honeybear03
[COLOR=blue]I got suckers in because it saids about$2.00 emails when i first joined I was getting emails. I have yet to be paid even though I am at $202.00. When i contact for payout i stop getting emails.
airyn1
How long has your account been over $100.00?? How would we go about taking legal action?
Dawnh2424
Ok I am jumping in on this one and stating a complaint too. In my account it shows that I have

$200.00 as well and that has been for 2 months now.

I too looked all over the site for a way to make sure I get that payout. Well I could really use that money to support other great Wm's. I couldn't find a way to get paid anywhere. I too sent an email, and it came back invalid email. So who do I send my request too? Hmm..seems we get scammed. I will say they are crazy, bonkers,Looney toons if they think I will sign up a whole bunch of people only to have them wronged too!!

:angry

I am now up to $302 as well, I haven't promoted them. I have no referrals,so where is the $100 deposits coming from? Well I looked all over the site. I filled out the feedback. I also sent several emails to suuport@readpay.com..Nada..Zilch..No replies. Hopes of ever getting even my $2 is looking grim. I also noticed I am getting several emails a day from wm's supporting readpay STILL.. I ask WHY Oh WHY? SO more people can get taken???? am.gif am.gif am.gif
cchsmark
...(sigh)...don't you think it's all too weird now there is still a lot people promote the readpay with the lottery program....are they still sleeping like ....unconsiously....or what...or they really make money from them?? Impossible???? av.gif ac.gif

Oh yes - I too have now over $300 -but never got a single paid email from them!
Last month it was $200 and now suddenly went up to $300...
Anyway I wrote a very polite email asking them to send that money..or to check what is wrong with my account. I don`t have any referrals i did not bother to advertise this site.So if they want to fill my account with money without me doing absolutely nothing so be it - it`s just worrying me someones are advertising this site showing their account balances which are as we all know totally out of ( never mind.. a bad bad word..) ..

Surely nobody is going to be paid - but I`m sticking around of curiosity.Love to know how this is going to end.. ai.gif

But good luck getting a response from them. I have emailed them atleaste a dozen times in the last month. I have also used their contact. Never heard anything from them. I dont know why they gave me 300.00 in my account. It aint mine. But the 6.00 is and I would like it now. But of course I am not going to hold my breath for that to happen LOL

Wow! Glad I'm not the only one that readpay is ignoring.
According to readpay, I have $100.00 in my account. I have never recieved any mail from them, and have not referred anybody. Weird, weird, weird.

I have about $300.00 in my account but no way to claim it. Does anyone know how to claim your money? The agreement says something about a request form you fill out but I can't find access to that form anywhere. I have written to support@readpay.com and also used their feedback form to try to find out where this form is, but just like most of the rest of you, no response.

Anyone ever had any success with this?

Thanks!

I'm in Australia, so not really convenient to try the phone number, but maybe someone want's to give it a go, and then come back and tell us all about how it is non-existent

Didn't have time to check too much more, but thought it was a start.

For that amount of $$$ I'd go to court immediately. I mean, it says in their terms that your account balance is final ab.gif

I think I'm going to talk to my husband when he gets home from work and see what he thinks. Someone posted an address and phone number where this company is supposedly located so that would help.

No wonder I've been getting so much SPAM. Well at least they say my account balance is final....I WANT MY MONEY!!! ab.gif What shall we do?? ai.gif
