So for 143 views at SAS, 98 were registered at Xray, from which 84 were valid and it earned me in total 43.1 credits = $ 0.0314
==> for 1000 view at SAS, I can hope to earn more or less 22 cents

Actually you should try the following.

1) Promote the xray searchpromo link after it is unbanned. Now the promote link will do also.
2) Instead of promoting to all tiers, choose the Tier 1, 2 countries. USA, UK and Canada is a must + 4 other search groups.
3) Use the PTP exchange at SAS, which will help you get more hits to your link.

Here's my statistics at xray using SAS.

Thanks aa.gif

For those 50 hits at XRay, how many were deducted at SAS ?
Because what bothered me a bit is that for 143 views counted on SAS, I had only 98 registered at XRay.

I don't understand why you have 29 USA on 12/03 and I have only 5, it is a huge difference, I thought that if I choose all tiers I would have more in total but not that much less in Tier 1

Yes, you MUST use the PTP exchange to get more hits. In fact, you will get a lot more hits at your PTP links but you can select only 3. I do not have the exact invalid hits now but I believe it is around 10-20% at most which is far less than your invalid hits.
I think the cause of your high invalid may be that you are promoting to ALL and some other countries hits are not counted. Just my guess, hope this helps! bc.gif

I don't really need more hits but I wouldn't complain if I could earn a bit more than 22 cents per 1000 SAS views on my XRay

As for targetting, as I have less than 10% of my total hits coming from Tier 1 when I don't target, I suppose that there is less than 10% of the SAS views coming from Tier1 and as I am not from Tier1 myself, I generally don't target.

It annoys me a bit that someone who targets can receive 29 hits from US clickers one day when I don't target and receive only 5 hits from the US the same day while I have still credits waiting to be used up. I must admit that this pushes me a bit to target, as without targetting I thought I would have more visits from which some are worth less but I didn't expect to have at the same time such a drastic smaller amount of clicks from Tier1

terakoh
Yeah, I agree with you being annoyed to see 5 hits versus 29 hits. Did you surf in SAS as well? As mentioned before, you will get more hits in return only when you surf at the PTP exchange. I made a mistake during my early days using SAS promoting where I did not surf the PTP exchange. I only get around 5-10 hits per day when targeting.

I am from Singapore so I am a Tier 3, I always have little pages to surf. Lol, but no choice, if we do not target, we will earn very little or even lose. But if we target, and everyone choose to target, we can never participate in manual traffic exchange. ap.gif

Sophie, what they are saying is use the PTP SURF at SAS. Since that surf page is dedicated to active surfers and everyone is "fighting" for the top spot, the more you surf there, the higher your ranking and the more hits you will get (while you are a ranked member for that day).

Does that make sense?

It doesn't matter if your target tier 1 or target all. It is solely about your PTP ranking while surfing. You are correct in your assumption that if you target tier 1 and get 29 hits, you should get about the same "tier 1" hits if you target all.
sophieca
Hi,

It's not the total amount of hits I receive that bothers me, it is the fact that out of 143 views, I had only 98 hits reported at XRay and only 5 from the US that made me wonder.

What makes me wonder as well is the difference of US clicks received if we select all countries or Tier1 only, it seems that those who select Tier 1 receive those hits from Tier1 and the ones who check all countries receive the rest. You'll see I have more than 5 times more hits from China than I have from the US, do Chinese people click 5 times more than US members in average ?

I know we can make two campaigns and I suppose that is what I am going to do, one with only US and Canada and one with all countries, so that might maybe allocate my credits better for me when I still give pages to view to everyone.

As a little suggestion, I don't know if it is possible, I would like to make groups instead of selecting 7 countries.
I would make 4 groups, one per Tier, selecting the countries I put in each group depending the sites I want to promote and then instead of selecting all countries or select 4 or 7 countries, I would select the 4 groups I made and would have my views spread 25 % per group.

Sophie

Thanks
onlooker
Again, I have to ask, what SURF pages are you surfing?

ToNT, Match game, PTP surf or traditional?

The people the select tier 1 only do NOT get preferential treatment on USA hits.

(warning, geek speak coming...)

Technically, when a person views a page, the code that "finds" a page RANDOMLY selects from all pages with an active status, postive credits AND from the selected country (that they are from). When an advertiser selects ALL as the countries to target, their page will naturally be available in EVERY random pool.

Therefore, if a person from the USA is surfing, they will randomly get a page that is targeted to USA or ALL (no other).

The people in this thread are getting more hits because they are using the PTP surfer and that accelerates the hits based on their activity (as is explained on the start page of that surfer).

Yes, I participated at the PTP surf only as if I were to surf others, I will not have enough sites to surf for the PTP. Anyway, SAS is very good at targeting and I am pleased with its results so far. ax.gif

Hi,

I generally surf the PTP page and once in a while I do also the match game but I don't need more hits quickly, I had only 150 credits allocated anyway. It is the ratio hits received from Tier 1 vs. hits received from Tier 4 and hits received from Tier 1 vs total of Hits received that I was looking at.

It seems like you lost quite a lot of clicks. Is there any chance that the sites that you're promoting were going MySQL offline when people clicked your link?

Sophie, I am going to run a little experiment to see if there is a cheatbot (or many) that is robbing the site. I have a trick up my sleeve to flush them out and will post my findings back in this thread in about a day (or sooner if it finds something quickly).

Thanks, it really didn't seem normal and well, I am not sure but at one time there were like 25 people surfing and my 50 views left went away in no time with a 25 hours unique request, it seemed odd to me, am not 100 % sure as I didn't realise directly and couldn't check back of course, it was about the time I posted this morning that it happened.

If what I develop "works" it will flush out the cheatbots.

Initially, the one problem with this is even after I catch the cheater, your advertising credit is still gone (it would be next to impossible to store each hit made and by whom).

However, with this new "trick" it will not only flush out the cheater, it will also credit back the "bad" hit to the advertiser immediately. ac.gif

Therefore, you or I won't even have to intercede and correct it. I am now chomping at the bit wanting to see just how bad this "situation" is.
onlooker
Hi Sophie,
Would you like to test it again?

I now have it set to not only catch the cheats, but also if a cheatbot IS hitting the site, you won't be charged for that hit. aa.gif

Therefore, your SAS stats should match the other site's stats very well (as long as the other site is tracking well and the pages are loading).

Will be anxious to see your new results. al.gif
onlooker
Here's an impressive little finding: because of the new setup, I am guessing that you will receive MORE hits than SAS deducts from your account. bb.gif

If anyone wants to test this, PM me here AFTER you give a 100 credit test and I will reimburse you the 100 credits. Would like to see some solid stats from various sites. About 10 people testing this should be sufficient, maybe 2 or 3 per site (for an accurate average).

If we have this set to be very accurate, this could be a handy tool to test the remaining sites and see if some of them really are losing credits on "their" end.

Early stats results reported to me by a member:

Tier 4 11 10 90.91% 1 credit(s)
Total: 16 15 93.75% 3.7 credit(s)

16 total hits (I am guessing the invalid from the tier 4 person is because they may have opened the page in a new window?)

Anyway, total credits deducted from SAS: 14 ax.gif

Thanks a lot for looking into this aa.gif

I have assigned 100 credits to honeyadvertiserproPTP, wepaid, donkey and polar.

I didn't surf PTP yesterday so the clicks might be slower, will check this evening how it went and I don't need the credits back lol

When I first joined SAS, I got exactly the same amount of clicks as I assigned so I was extremely happy about it. Nowadays, I normally get around 40-45 clicks for 50 credits assigned so it's not so bad.

I just assigned 100 credits to my Polarbearclicks so we'll see how it goes.

Tier 4 62 60 96.77% 6 credit(s)
Total: 100 96 96.00% 25.6 credit(s)

As you can see, 100 hits (96 valids) and only 76 credits used at SAS...
That means there was 24 free hits!

Now, how did they receive the 24 free hits? When a member hits the wrong number, the first page shown during a session or if the page closes (for whatever reason), the member doesn't get credit, the advertiser doesn't get charged either. Couple that with the fact that now the advertiser doesn't get charged for "ghost hits" and it starts to add up to a SURPLUS of free hits. al.gif

I have looked into the statistics for my XRay link. I am keeping track of all the credits I got, but not of the hits...
Anyway, here is what I got:
Used credits (at SAS): 240
Credits earned (x-ray 1st link): 217
Money pe 1000 hits: $.63

Tiers: for a while I was using only US, UK and CA but even if I am promoting 10 sites at SAS I had some extra AD credits so I decided to select some tier2 conuntries also. I think it is ok... I got 47 hits yesterday, I am using the PTP surf, but X-Ray is not selected between the 3 links.
scrstev
I have mostly Tier 1 countries selected (I have US, UK, CA, NZ, AU), I am getting about 30 credits a day on 32-33 hits.

Total hits sent by SAS: 65
Total hits registered by Xray-Cash: 64
Total hits valid: 62
Total PTP credits: 61
Total credits per 1,000 SAS impressions: 938 credits  (This is obviously extrapolated using the above data)

At 73 cents per 1,000 credits, I will earn 68 cents per 1,000 SAS impressions.

Given that up until the $2,000 was dumped into the SAS ad pool, you could buy 1,000 SAS impressions for 26 cents (plus palpay fee, obviously), this would lead to a profit of 42 cents per 1,000 SAS views.

Just a little analysis of the data, as this is how I would be looking at the data.
