Did anyone try their new products? aj.gif

I've only tried the new Photoshop, works very nice and isn't even that hard for my system. I also think I'll get Audition 3... But was just wondering what you were all thinking about the new stuff, has it improved enough to get it or do the older versions still work fine? ab.gif

Depends what you use it for.

For example, there are some new settings when dealing with RAW photographs formats that really make a difference with Photographers

Also, the CS3 UI looks better.

i have jus got cs3, not even installed it yet. but from wat av heard, this new version is not dat much diffent from the previous. Its now more user friendly, and for hardcore photo editors, it provides some extra bits.

But for ordinary photoshopers like us who use the basic features, its more or less the same. but i will still recomend it......it looks nice

As it pertains to doing graphics and pictures, Adobe is the best. However, there are a lot of features that you may never use. But if you master this software you will have everything you need to make a good looking site --- in terms of design.

thanks for your replies. Have got myself a copy of Photoshop CS3 and its nice but nothing spectacular, at least it doesnt seem to make my computer run slower ae.gif Audition CS3 on the other hand is absolutely wonderful, goes way faster while using a lot of tracks and has a great tube-compressor and more effects ab.gif

Hi ,
I've stopped using adobe photoshop, and now I only use an opensoure alternative called GIMP
It is really worth taking a look at, and as with all opensource software, it's free!

I use both photoshop CS3 and paint shop Pro X2. i love both of them although paintshop pro is more user friendly, very easy to use, CS3 on the other hand is great if you're familiar with photoshop in general, it looks great and doesn't slow my computer unlike CS2.

I had tried photoshop, and liked it but I think its too expensive, and not worth the money.

I had also used Gimp as well, I liked it. Its a bit different, and it takes a bit to get use to, but its has practically the same features as adobe, and the best part its free. =)

Have tried it for a couple of days but there's still a lot of things I can better use Photoshop for, but thanks for the tip. Especially something as good as photoshop's "save for web" option isn't available in Gimp.

Photoshop CS3 is an improvement, but expensive. For those who like to obey the law and has little cash, I can recommend GIMP. GIMP comes with most Linux distributions, but is also available for Windows. 100% free and open source so you can develop or help translate and write documentation.

It's very nice and pretty. I am learning how to use it and it is taking me forever. I want to use some other adobe products but my pc cant handle the load. Theres another pc available here, but I that just wont do.

PS. I hope to find some brushes for free. There are not enough shapes. I also want to learn how to properly use the clone thing.

EDIT. also wanted to mention that I have seen a lot of people chatting positively on the GIMP ad mentioned earlier in the thread. aa.gif

I have CS3 and think ill stick to that for now!

Well, I upgraded to CS3, but in all honesty, I like 7.0 better. I think that is mainly due to some of the ways they changed how to do certain tasks in CS3 that are different than in 7.0. I'll probably get used to it eventually, but for now, I load 7 for most of what I do, which isn't a whole lot, as I'm still a noOb with Photoshop. ai.gif

I use Photoshop Elements and have for years. I think it does everything I need with a similar interface for a LOT less money. I got an older version on Ebay for $20.
