why do the ads for cosplay and lighning take so long to load and hang the timer up? Not having problems with any others, but I dread doing those. Lydia

For cosplay, it's because of the 41 0 iframes they have on their PTP page. No idea for Lightning. Tried to install the add on for firefox and can't get it to work

A little confused on this. I did put a couple of redirects in my SiteBlock that came from cosplay, but I don't remember them being 0 iframes. If they are sending 0 iframes, why are they allowed here? Also, I am a little aggravated at them because there is no report abuse button anywhere on the page and I have a lot of problems with them.

As for lightning, it's doing a little better. I think it is just that there is a lot of data trying to load at once. I blocked a couple of images there and it is loadfing faster.

Which add-on? Also, if you don't have the most recent version of firefox, some stuff isn't working worth a hoot. Got the new version a couple of days ago and it seems to be better. Click help and about to find out your version. If it's not 3.0.1 then go install it. It will retain all your bookmarks, settings, etc. Lydia

I know some sites have banned all Cosplay ads because of the problems it causes. They have suspended current ads and asked the advertisers to send in a replacement ad.

Greasemonkey and mvent. I did it according to their directions, the window says to restart firefox to finish the install, I restarted it and the install is never completed. Tried restarting. going back to the page, restart, real annoying for "the best browser on the planet"

BTAIM, Cosplay is on the banned list as long as they have 41 0 iframes on their ptp page.

They were allowed here until I learned of the 41 0 iframes and the fact that they do not have a "Report Abuse" link. Now, they're in the same category as bonniemails in that the ads need replaced or deleted, advertisers' choice.

I have the most recent version of firefox and it still doesn't recognize the add ons.

rosemails does not have a report abuse button. I forget which redirect I got from them, but I put it in SiteBlock.

If you click on tools and then add-ons, it should bring up a window with your add-ons. Most should have a button for options, enable, and disable. If the add-on you want is already enabled, check your options to see that the featuress you want are enabled. Does that help? Lydia

the MidnightClicking ad in the Contest PTC section has a problem. It brings up another small browser window with other ads in it. There are no controls in the new window, like a browser window normally has. I don't think it qualifies as a pop up, since I have my pop up blocker on. Not sure what it is, but it is annoying. Can anything be done on this? Lydia

Rt click the ad and click Add this to AD Black List and/or add the site to your HOSTS fix file and you'll not be bothered with seeing the ad again.

2 things I'm less than thrilled about firefox are that when I open a tab, the browser goes to fullscreen so I can't see the email I was working on and none of the plugins work on the new or old version of the browser. Guess it's another example of the machine being smarter than the operator.

Not sure why the ad ons aren't working. I want it in full screen, but use tabs, so that a new link will always open in a new tab. That way, I can just switch back and forth as I need to between tabs. Took me a while to get it to work the way I want, but I played with the settings until I was happy with it. To each his own I guess. I tried Opera for a day or two, and thought it was the worst browser I have ever used. Didn't take me long to uninstall it. Lydia

Ron,

To let you know that I'd like to add a PTP to the following upgraded ad.

13 PT PTC (NO SEARCHES, NO PTP) / 13 pt PTC to 2000 (No Search, No PTP)

However, this one will be from Honeyadvertiserpro which is a non-popup PTP.

Hope that's okay with you ?

Let me know. Thanks !

The popups are easily thwarted using a popup blocker whereas the scripts that load all the moneymaking sites for the PTP site owner are the reason why they are separate from other ads. Pretty much, anyone will open an affiliate page to view the contents whereas there are far fewer who will visit a PTP page.

My SurfBar earnings are not crediting to my account. Not sure how long this has been going on, but I know I did not get credit for anything yesterday or today. Yesterday, I thought it was just a glitch and would straighten itself out. Today, with still no increase, I know there is a problem. Any way to find out when the last time I got credit for surfing? I am usually faithful to surf every day. Lydia

edited to add: Ack! I just checked my Account Summary and I have no surfbar earning since 7-22-08 in either cash or points. I am nearly certain that I have not skipped any days working the surfbar. I am not surfing anymore until this gets straightened out. I am not a happy camper. If I did something wrong, please tell me so I can correct it. I should have a lot more points than I do and a little more cash. Did I not get all my clicks counted either?

Sure they are, they're part of your Personal Earnings. What happened was that when there's a problem with the surfbar, I change that part of the ads to Surfbar Earnings so I can test ala y'all's accounts and make sure they're crediting properly. {Remember the problem we had for a month of leap years where the point surf was crediting cash?} Anyway, after it's determined that all is well, when my mind freeze thaws, I remember to change it back to Personal Earnings to make sure the upline gets their cut.

So...the short version is Ron was tweaking with the site again and fergot to tell y'all what was what, not that I get away with it very often with Lookin-out-for-da-widdle-bears Lydia on the job. ai.gif

I was viewing a rosemails page when it started to redirect, It opened a new tab before the box could come up asking if I wanted to navigate away from the page. Is it just here or everywhere that banners don't show? Do other pics work? If not, you may have Disable Pictures (or whatever they call it) selected. As far as the PTC worth 0.167¢, I'm not allowed to tell which are the good ones and which are the bad ones but the good ones advertise a site whereas the bad ones tell you what not to do. That was as close as I could get to 1/6th of a cent and I think it's set for uniques weekly. Otherwise, the 6k hits would all be gone in no time.

I can't stress this strongly enough that you need to enable pics so you know which banners to avoid. Thanks to the new "fix" they did for the scripts, cheat banners only take a switch flipped to make it count as a cheat link instead of making them negative value clicks. They're mixed in with the others and clearly marked for those like yourself who read before they click.

Ok I checked in IE and found out my answer... lol. I understand why you can't say which ones are the bad ones - too many cheaters lurking out there.

I shut off all my ad blockers, etc. and still can't see any banners in any of the PTC sections here at TTM - and yes it's only here at TTM that this is happening. Some of them I see a blank square and others have words on them of what site they are. This is only in Firefox. They show up in IE, but I have all my safety features for surfing set up in Firefox, so I am kind of frustrated by this as you can imagine.

The AD blocker only blocks the ADs you tell it to and will block none on its own (as far as I know) To add something to it, rt click the banner you don't want to see ever again, click Add to AD Block List and click OK. If you want to block all the banners from that site, do the same thing only change the name of just the banner to * and it will block all images from that site. If you click Block All Images from the same server, it will block all the pages rather than all the banners and the site in question will no longer load so be very careful about clicking that. Found that out the hard way. With Avant Browser, the only way it will block all the pic is if you click Tools, Disable Pictures. The ones I have selected under Tools are Enable AD Blocker, Disable Pictures (enable when you want to see the banners), Open New Pages in the Foreground, h Animations, Disable Sounds, Disable Videos. Leave the next 3 unchecked or timers won't work in PTR.

ANy other queries, just ask. I'm no expert but I've been using Avant since '03 and am familiar with its workings.

To automatically block the sites known for having malware on their sites, enable the HOSTS fix, if you haven't already.

I unchecked enable adblocker in options and got the banners, but I had too many problems trying to use it. It was incredibly slow and kept losing connection with TTM and telling me it could not find the site. I could not figure out how to stop all the interruptions from IE messages. Had all the IE stuff unchecked in the options, but still got all the IE integration. Then it got stuck in full screen mode somehow and covered up my deskbar. Couldn't figure out anyway to exit. Trying to access the floating toolbar when it was like that was a bear. Finally got it back into regular viewing mode after having to coldboot to get out of it. Then it crashed on me and refused to close. I finally gave up and uninstalled it. I'm sure I could figure it out after a few days, but it is so slow that I don't think I could get everything done I need to do each day. I already spend at least 5 to 7 hours a day just doing TTM. Can't afford any more slow downs. Thanks anyway. Lydia

That's for xrayemails and AVG (same one I use) probably mistook all the scripts on there as viruslike activity. What's the URL or name of the virus you have quarantined?
