OK folks new question.

I have been getting hit with trojans. I run my anti-virus and adware scans, I delete the files that they find and they keep coming back. What do I do?

to search your registry for them;

Start, Run, regedit in the box, OK

then Edit, Find

if you're not 100% sure what you are deleting is bad make certain to export it first so you can put it back if something doesn't work right afterwards. Deleting THE WRONG thing from your registry can cause big problems.

to export a file; click on the key in the left pane, then File, Export. to put it back if needed you only need to click Import then go to where you saved the file, click on it and your pc will put it back in the right place.

most nasties plant themselves under Software keys

good luck aa.gif

eta: if you haven't tried running your virus/malware tools in safe mode doing so might allow you to access/delete files you can't when windows is running normal. safe mode can usually be accessed by hitting F8 when booting up

First of all make sure it is a actual virus and not a false positive, there are some sites that do that but I forgot the name of it. Google it.

Go to safe mode and scan, see if you can delete it from there(Press F8 when first starting the computer) (Although this may not be 100% effective)

Google and search for the type of virus, usually someone may have a way of deleting it(Although this may not be 100% effective)

Do a reformat if you can but if you don't know how go to the professionals, if you don't do it correctly it could up your hardware.(Should get rid of the viruses completely)

Hi! Have you ever tried "The Cleaner"? You can download a trial version - fully-functional for 30 days - at http://www.moosoft.com
I bought the paid version, and it's great for finding all sorts of nasties on your computer. I'd highly recommend it to anyone, and it is specifically designed to find trojans. Best of luck - Cheri aa.gif

I personally use NOD32. I would recommend you Counter-spy if you keep getting trojans or spywares
