I like reading through the old topics and posts. Reading from around 4 or 5 years ago is amusing and informative....

An old topic in 2004 stated.... I Didn't Get Paid in PTR, Do You? ... or something to that effect. I'm asking the same question now, towards the end of 2007. Do you make money? Is it more or less than it was at first for you? Does anyone own a program and make enough to live off of?

owning a program is NOT a way to make enough to live off of. i have owned up to 7 ptrs (down to 2) and 2 search engines (down to 1) over a 4 year period.

You still have to have a "day job" or another source of money.

Then again, PTR was never intended to be a "replace your income and stay at home JOB"--for a lucky few it may have been. For the rest of us it was a little extra money here and there, and thats not even true for mos site owners because any "extra" money goes into hosting payments, payouts, buying plugins, site design etc etc etc etc ad infinitum ad nauseum.

I didn't think anyone could support themselves owning a program, but I wasn't totally sure. 5 years ago there were people complaining about links worth less than 1/4 of a cent, and cashing out at $10 or so a month without referrals and complaining it wasn't enough... And now lots of links are worth about $.0001 or maybe a little more if you're with the right programs. I just amazes me how much things have changed. What do you cash out now at certain programs without referrals?

Well, with the good paid to signup programs you can still make the money of those days, even if you live in a non-search country.

I'm from the US, but I'm sad to admit most paid-to-sign-up offers confuse me. Lots of them lead to surveys that want you to pay them at the end for some gold offer. I've heard you don't have to go that far to get credited, but I'm not sure I ever have. A lot of them also seem vague, and I'm not always sure what I may be getting myself into. What sites have good paid-to-sign-up offers that are straightforward and simple?
