I started PTR back in 2006, joined a few PTR sites and made an extra $10 - $20 a week with little to no referrals. For a 20 year old college student like me, that's enough to buy food and gas.
I had noticed that many others who joined many sites had built webpages to promote all of their search PTRs. They said you could earn $150, $200, $400, or even $600 a month. And I would find that users page and join every program on the list.
But right after I joined like 15+ programs, the earthquake happened. And link values went down. I didn't mind that part. But the part i did mind was that before the earthquake, I never had to worry about links expiring if I was away from my computer all day.
This earthquake happened in Taiwan/China, where a lot of the search PTRs are based. Because of my school and work schedule, I am away from my computer a lot. And I don't get to click links every day. So it may take me over 2 - 3 weeks to reach a $3 payout.
How come American POs don't make these kind of sites? They are not affected by the earthquake. They can send out 30+ 1¢ links if they wanted. Even if they sent mostly their own search links, they could afford to put the money into, and be much more sustainable than the PTC sites.
