Does your country is way behind in the broadband world?

The Usa is currently ranked in 15 in the world bj.gif bj.gif

This is my internet connection

Mine is Verizon DSL

Here are my results:

I just got dsl and I am so happy about it.

Its only 384kbps but man its way faster than dial up at 42kbps!

I wish I could just get the 6.6mbps I had on vacation. Servers can only send data so fast. So some things like youtube and such still max out at 3.3 or so I saw with that 6.6mbps account I was on.

I'm on a 3.0mbps ADSL line, myself. Just waiting for Telus to get their 6.0mbps lines in our area of the province.

100mbps lines, though? Can't see a practical use for it for the average consumer, other than piracy. aa.gif

But the Japanese have been way ahead of N. America for tech for a long time. I was waiting for them to get HDTV over here when Japan had it back in the early- to mid-90's. And I don't believe we ever did get the dual-cassette VCR's they had at one point. ab.gif

I'm on Sky Broadband Max, the top speed you can get is 16MB but because I live around 3 miles away from the exchange my speed is lower (around 3.5MB). The reliability is fantastic though I've never had downtime and I only pay £10 a month, which is a brilliant price.

My ISP is already offering 100Mbps connections too. Its not available where I live yet... but they say it will be next year. Right now I'm on a 8MB line and haven't really had anything to complain aa.gif

I have no idea how the connections are here, mine is:

Speedtest gives this results for the top 5 countries:

Japan 10866 kb/s 5005 kb/s
Sweden 7591 kb/s 2591 kb/s
Latvia 6541 kb/s 2487 kb/s
Romania 5929 kb/s 2869 kb/s
Netherlands 5108 kb/s 1274 kb/s

So David, seems like you've got at least double the average speed of your country, you have nothing to complain about ae.gif

Actually not that much aa.gif Only €69 (~ $100) / month.

I figured it would have been a lot more.

I pay about half of that for my current connection

Oh no ... very slow like a snail:

I'm using 2mbps, getting 1681 for download and 425 for upload. It's more than enough for me when I'm just surfing but I can get impatience sometimes when downloading Prison Break or Heroes aa.gif I live in Stockholm, Sweden every once in a while and as you can see above, it's no.2. I don't see much different when surfing though but yeah I could finish downloading very fast.
