Ohhh to get petrol that cheap again, it'd sure be good, I can't see it though as the govt likes the tasx it recieves from it, about half the price of a litre at present.. Maybe the prices will go down if and when the U.S. gets out of the middle east.

It's nice to here that is S.C. it is cheaper. We are going to Fla. at the end of the month for a wedding and we were checking on how muce the gas is. We are driving to see the sites and figured it will cost about $200 just in gas roung trip. That is still cheaper than here although they say it may go up another 10 cents in the next month.
We will be driving to Wisconsin in June and that will be even more, but we will pay it because we have to.
It's gone up significantly since then. I paid $3.35 a gallon this week. If you go to Wal-Mart or Ingles and buy a gift card, it saves you 3 cents a gallon - doesn't sound like a lot, but every little bit helps!

Well yours is still very cheap and the US prices are all very very cheap .... as I have paid over $9.50 per US gallon only this week....
Next to that we have to pay high taxes to own a car .... and mine is due to the new checkup ... another obligated yearly thing...
And now I learn that even Finnish gas prices are even cheaper than ours.... but at least not such big differences there.... I really would love to pay less than
$4 per US gallon

How on earth can people afford to drive with those prices. People are cutting down on unnecessary driving and moving closer to their jobs at $1.36 a liter so I can only imagine what we would do at $9.50 a gallon...
I don't envy you those prices...

Those prices are really hard for us too.... we do cutting down on unnecessary driving.... but moving closer to our jobs is an utopia... for most of us.... Fortunately I can do lots by bike.... but am wondering about it a lot too...how can they affort to stand in queue ...for half an hour or more to go to their jobs daily (and again go home after it) with these prices.... BTW ... Houses, Energy, Grocery Stuff. Medical Insurance ...do cost a lot here too!
And what to think of education...my sons are young...and it is okay now...but what if they are 12 and older

That is WAY too much!
Where is "your place"?
This is my situation:
Country: Bulgaria (EU)
Fuel type: Diesel
Current fuel price: ~$1.77 per Liter/$6.70 per Gallon
Fuel quality: Horrible
Job type: Web Developer (pretty good paid job here)
Monthly wage: ~$980
IMO the fuel prices will constantly go UP until there's absolutely no petrol, so we should think of other sources of power to run our vehicles (hydrogen, electricity)...
