Ours (north of Dallas, TX) went up to $3.03 for unleaded today.
I should've filled up yesterday when it was $2.85
Supposedly, in Texas - the House was going to cancel the gasoline tax for 90 days, so it would lower the price per gallon by .20 cents. I wish they'd get on the stick & DO IT!!

Where is that, david?? I don't think I've seen $1.50 per gallon in at least 5 years.
I feel horrible for our European friends. These prices are just insane, the oil companies are just tooooooooo greedy! Exxon making
10.71 BILLION dollars in PROFIT in just one quarter (3 months!!!) That truly makes me ill.

Gas is what I use to heat my house and that has rocketed in price too.
Petrol I put in my car, the price is 95 pence per litre of unleaded which is equivalent to 1 dollar and 86 cents.
A gallon is 4.54 litres over here so wont post that as it will get to confusing.
I filled up my car tonight and that will last me about a week and I spent 40 pounds or 78 dollars.

That may be so, but almost 80% of Dutch gas prices as Pnguin posted are various taxes...

2.85 for regular
Bondy_UK
Nov 24 2007, 11:28 AM
Lets see if i can work this out...
- 3.79 litres per US gallon
- $2.0613 US Dollars to £1 British Pound
Cost of Petrol / Gas = 103.9p (£1.039) per litre for standard unleaded.
=========================
3.79 x 1.039 = 3.93781
3.93781 x 2.0613 = 8.117007753 (rounded at 8.12)
=========================
So basically 1 US gallon of standard unleaded petrol / gas (not hi-octane) costs
$8.12 here in sunny old england

Again? ffs why don't they make Gorden Brown pay his petrol from his own salary with no tax relief and then see what happens to the price!!
US Residents think yourself lucky!!
In England to drive it costs:--> Road tax
Up to
£300 =
$618.39 per year
--> Residence Permit (Fee
PER CAR)
For the privilege of parking outside your own house if you do not own a garage!
£60 to
£120 =
$123.68 to
$247.36 per year!
(
Grr this really p*sses me off)
--> Parking Charges£1.10 =
$2.27 for each hour you wish to park in town
--> Congestion Charge (another Blair/Brown tax invention)
£8 /
£10 =
$16.49 /
$20.61 per day!
--> Petrol / Gas (per US Gallon)
£3.94 =
$8.12 --> Insurance
Average for 18 yr old fully comp is
£1500 =
$3,091.95 per year
N.B At 18 you typically have to personally pay out the initial £250 to £500 of an insurance claim before a payout is made... thats
$515.32 to
$1,030.65!!
// Gordon Brown, the nice man he is, also introduced a Premium Tax, on top of Value Added Tax (VAT) for insurance policies, knowing its a legal requirement for all drivers to have it
I used to love England until about 8 years ago... now I hate it here, its a joke and seriously thinking about Immigrating
This country is ruined in so many ways!
Its a shame... its such a shame

Here is the quiz part.

Travelers Rest, S.C. - $3.05/gallon for the cheap stuff.
I've started buying STP gas treatment every time I fill up. I get better mileage that way.
I've quit thinking about
miles per gallon, now I think in
miles per dollar. It makes more sense these days.

It's nice to here that is S.C. it is cheaper. We are going to Fla. at the end of the month for a wedding and we were checking on how muce the gas is. We are driving to see the sites and figured it will cost about $200 just in gas roung trip. That is still cheaper than here although they say it may go up another 10 cents in the next month.
We will be driving to Wisconsin in June and that will be even more, but we will pay it because we have to.
