I am a proud owner, but like everyone else I don't want to get screwed over because of cheaters. I am very new to this business and I would like everyone's opinion on how they catch cheaters?

Do you use scripts? Do you check by hand?

If you use scripts can you share them with the rest of us? If you check it by hand, what do you check and look for?

It would be great if we could all work together to prevent cheaters so we can all exist without the risk of failing because of cheaters.

I designed my own script. So I don't have a generic one.

What type of GPT are you talking about? paid2click? 2read?

i am not to concerned about the security of the clicking as i have that pretty under control

but multiple registrations from the same person is probably the biggest problem. it is impossible to check that by hand.

I too would like to know the known cheaters. I know from reading this site that there are a couple of dangerous ones out there. I do have cash crusader, so I can check that way. Does anyone have a list of known cheaters they can PM me?

Find accounts that DO belong to cheaters

Find account that MAY belong to cheaters

When you click those you go to a page that tells you why someone IS cheating, or why someone MIGHT be a cheater.

One thing you can do is to add "ip" to you MySQL database and signup scripts that will log the ip address of where a person sends their email for a signup confirmation link from. I caught "Darktalking" that way. He had 48 pending referrals at 1CentEmails4U, all sent from the same ip...his.

To have a good system to catch all the cheater you may set this thing:
first of all you must locate every user to his real geographic region, for that you will need a country locator script, if you will need this kind of script email me and i will give it for free (the country and ip database were up-dated in march),

Second you must track his ip and to set a delay time, for example if two different user comes from the same IP in 30 minutes perhaps they are cheaters. Be careful because a lot of people are working through dial-up and because of that you must not set a delay time to long.

If you are using cookies (i hate this one) you are also able to make some little tricks here.

Also if a cheater is smart enough you cannot track him no matter what script you have (this is the bad news).

User cookies? It's very easy to clear history/cache/cookies of the browser

track IP? no way
A child can use high anonymous proxy. he can use 5 username to access

your site from 5 IP (proxies). and you consider them as 5 individual. And what happen if they use 20/30/50 100 accounts. hehe Your site is flooded by cheatersz


Here's my lamer recommendation
Build a php script that can detect proxy.

if (user access site from proxy)
{
kill him immeadiately.
}
else
{
if (within 5 minutes, there is another person access your site from this the sam ip).
{
He may a cheater or not a cheater (dynamic Ip from dial modem). -> delete his credits
}
else
{
Yes, he's valid user.
}
}

I hope this works.

Sometimes using proxy doesn't mean cheating . Many users from my country use proxies becouse they have to !!!

The easiest way to catch a cheater is look manualy in logs .

Compare time between clicks.

you must know if cheater has dinamic ip he do not even need to use proxies.
Also lot of users using proxies and do not cheat.
I think you should check os, browser or something else in logs.

here's another way to catch cheaters that use the same pay account..

logon to your mysql in order. I found some users that had the same pay account. (a no-no)
