Hello all, this is my first post and I'm not sure how to do this.
I thought I better report that I was hit with some nasties today while clicking on Click Salary. While in the PTC section I got hit with these four all at once...

Trojan horse Proxy.LFD

Virus found Win32/Ngvck

Trojan horse Proxy.MSV

Trojan horsePSW.Generic3.MTR

I don't remember which ad I clicked when this happened, sorry. AVG caught them and healed them.
I'm not very informed about these things... I hope that no further action is required on my part... I hope I got rid of them and they're not still causing trouble for me.
Sorry for my ignorance... any advice?

I'm a member there. It has a good PO, I came across a bad banner and got a reply with the banner pulled out of rotation. Will be on the look out, I try to make a mental note of exactly what the ad said or what site the banner was for. Don't always work, I mess up sometimes a close the window. But the PO is good at moving bad stuff if you come across it again and spot it.

Thanks, cconniejean, I did hear from the PO...unfortunatley I was not able to provide much more information as I just closed down and got out of there...fast.
You're right, the PO was very nice and I will try to provide more info if it ever happens again.

Yeah, PO is very nice and helpful when trying to get rid of bad stuff. I went there last night and did some clicking, didn't see anything put the usual paid emails for the normal run of sites. Figure I will go read some more email this morning. Wish you luck and be careful out there.

I picked up the trojan - matrixhasyou - on dayslooking this one gives you lots of those little warnings of pages not able to open you have to close your browser to stop them. Ad-aware does clean it out . but it's annoying as heck. Since I'm only checking in with Dayslooking (trying to get paid) I just check in for 1 click then run my ad-aware. best I could come up with any better ideas?

I picked up such a big gob of mess my one day in ClickSalary that I'm afraid to go back. I spent a whole day cleaning up my computer and was amazed at how many trojans and viruses I had. I just don't know enough about this stuff to feel comfortable with it.
I hate to show my ignorance.... but if my AVG and Adaware pick them up and I delete the files am I ok then? I ran several programs just to check and I found a couple more that they didn't catch and got rid of them also. Will I have to do this everytime I visit a different site? Is this normal in PTR?
cconniejean
I went through my email box on ClickSalary and didn't see anything. Every link I clicked on I looked at with Adblock, NoScript, view page info. Didn't see anything that would be causing a problem. I will go back again this morning and click some more email links and banners.

That's will most likely be a yes. Some sites get hit with a hacker that will put a frame on their site that will contain keyloggers, trojans and other bad stuff. Some people do it on purpose, like iframemoney. The trick is to watch this forum and when someone has found a site that downloads bad stuff, get them added to Adblock, or to your host files, and have NoScript.

If you have AdBlock you need to have these base domains blocked. So if a site has been hit by this hacker you are somewhat protected. I'll give you some examples. These are bad sites, do not go to them.

*stelaartois.ru*
*saleip.com*
*kamilet.info*
*stattrader.biz*

The above is just a few of the sites that need to be blocked. I visit my forums before I doing any clicking to see if new ones have come out that I need to add. Third party ads will do bad stuff too, like with popunders and popups. Sorry about all your computer problems.
pandi247
I'll check out AdBlock. I had not heard of it. I'd like to keep doing PTR but I think I need to get educated a little more. I see it's nothing to mess with if you're unprepared.
cconniejean
Ok, I think I found your problem. I notice they have a side on the page for 1-800-mail.com when I went to my inbox. Right now, and as of this morning this site has bad stuff on it.

So if you clicked on a paid email ad or a banner for this site without this being blocked...could be the problem. I will contact the PO and let them know. And yes, study this forum very good and learn all the ways to protect your computer if you like doing paid to read.
cconniejean
Just re-checked 1-800-mail.com they are clean now. Came acrossed it in a ptp rotator, that might be what happened while you was at ClickSalary. Adblock and NoScript are a must have now days.
