Notice the difference?
htt://stelaartois.ru/index2.php & htt://www.stelaartois.ru/index2.php
I also came across a forum and they were also showing another version as well:
stelaartois.ru/sun.htm

As of this morning still infected, I did send a report by contact form on the site.

I had this one in my block list: stelaartois.ru/index2.php, but not the www.stelaartois.ru/index2.php
I can now go to a site with both of these in the Jutakys-Detektor and it shows both of them bocked now. I didn't notice this till I came upon expert mails, clicked on my adblock and saw the www.stelaartois.ru/index2.php as a active link. But, I'm ready, have cleaned the trojans and other junk off my computer. Been reading about how to add to my host files. Ready for a new go around. bo.gif

You could just add the base domain (stelaartois.ru) to your adblock instead of putting the exact URL of the files.

See, that's what I don't understand. I found where the 15 trojans and 6 spyware programs were coming from (bad download for software). Fixed that. I'm thinking, the problem. I have Blocksite

and adblock. I have been putting the really main bad stuff, example.

Adding h**p://stelaartois.ru* to Blocksite
Putting exact URL of the files in adblock - h**p://stelaartois.ru/*.php, h**p://stelaartois.ru/*.htm, h**p://stelaartois.ru/*.html

But when I came on expert-mails with the www, those links were showing active in my adblock and not like they normally do when a site is blocked. So... could my Blocksite addon not be working well with adblock? Cause alot of times when I open Blocksite to double check that I do have a bad site listed, it's not there and I have to re-enter it, and I know I put it in there.

Like sitemenu.net, stayed up till 1:00am yesterday going back through all the listed sites and putting them back in Blocksite. Get home today from work, and sitemenu.net is not listed anymore and had to re-copy and paste it back. Don't know, I know I'm getting good at copy and paste. Or... is it the way I'm doing it.

I think you can add URLs as *sitename.com* to make sure you catch them with or without the www.

I would leave off the .php or .html from the end and just finish the line with the asterisk. Not all those files ended in .php or .html, for instance the .smil file in there, so I don't know if doing that is offering you full protection.

Is that what you mean? I don't know the specifics of how adblock or blocksite work or if one might conflict with the other.
cconniejean
I'll give that a try. Just guessing it's the way I'm doing it, just isn't quite right. Will give your idea a try. Thanks.

Hi,

I have been reading this, what is the difference between blocksite and adblock ? Am not familiar with any of them, is it easy to use ? If you have blocked sites, will mvent tool still work and report the badies or will it then not notice it ?

Did you add it to your host files ? Once someone tried to explain me in yahoo how to do that, gave up after realising how untechie I was ad.gif

The only reason I had Blocksite was this extension adds the site blocking functionality that was removed from Adblock Plus. But then went back to regular Adblock and never removed the other addon Blocksite. Blocksite works like your host files would. You actually get a yellow bar window across the top of the page saying the site contains elements that are on your black list and were not loaded. Once I read some reviews on the adblock plus that it didn't actually block the site I stopped using it. Using the blocksite my Mvent tool still worked, didn't have any problem with that. Blocksite doesn't add it to your host files but works like it, easier to use.
