I've been an active member for around 2 years or so now. I even went 7 months without using it and decided to check and see if I was still active and yup... I am.
RishiBoy
I tried it for around a month and wasn't activated. ah.gif

About a year back, I was active and had been for several months...was about ready to recieve my 2nd payment from them, when with 2 days left in the month. They decided to put me to pending and take my earnings.

Told me had enough of Cable users in my area. But if I wanted to, keep it running and you may get back to active as it warrents. Well I didn't get my pay and I canceled myself from their program.

If you haven't been actatived in several months, get rid of it, cause you wont get actavated.

personally i don't think rank has anything to do with active or pending.

my rank is 2710 at the moment and i am active, when i turned active my rank was about 5000.

Just run the program a few months, if they don't make you active, email them, i did that and two days later i was active.

just tell them how much you use the program... ae.gif

It isn't about process time.

They are specifically looking for:

1) Ultra-slow internet connections
2) Countries that no one lives in

Sounds funny, but I am serious, you can read their newsletters. aa.gif
Brenda@PJ
Actually, I have been active for what, a year now? They pay regularly. I went from dial-up to dsl back to dial-up with no change in status and I live in the USA.

Not quite. What they're after is rare connection types.

They do website profiling amongst other things. Basically they'll take a website, and hit it from clients all over the world to test load times etc. So they want a reasonable sample of each connection type in each region.

If you're on cable and in the US, sorry, they've already got the 500 they need, the other 5000 miss out because they didn't get in first aa.gif

That being said, I think you can still earn referral bonuses if you aren't active? Can anyone else confirm this?

Gezz,I was active like a year and a half ago and got paid once and then I was almost ready to get paid again and then they posted that they needed other country's and BOOM! av.gif I was put to inactive ah.gif The meenie's am.gif I have cable and in calif. ak.gif

I have been Active with them for over a year now. And, get paid every month just about too. Usually only a little over $5.00, but every little bit helps, right? lol

Anyhow, I found if you go in the Preferences Section, the set the Performance Manager down to a little past the middle, you can make more money that way. At least I do, and I use dial-up, and am in a dinky little town. lol

So, maybe if you check your settings, might be more active and earn a little more. This is one of the programs I can rely on.

All have a beautiful day!!!! ac.gif

I live in Hong Kong and was activated almost straight away although it took about 5 months to get to my first $5. Now they seem to be more interested in my connection and I'm getting to $5 each month.

Seeing as it's something you set up and leave and don't have to do anything else it's an easy way to make a few extra dollars, which come in handy!

Cheers,

Curly
sta
Gomez rules! I've been paid +90$ since I joined.

There's a similar program without referral bonuses/levels etc.

http://agent.capcal.com/agent.asp

I get about 1$ a month from them, no minimum payouts to paypal.

Try it.

Nope, been a member for a few months now and still pending, guess they don't need UK DSL people ah.gif

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Gomez PEER! We have received
an overwhelming response from users all around the world.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to accept you as an Active Gomez
PEER at this time, but have designated you as a "Pending" Gomez PEER.
This means you will not be paid for your PC's online availability or
processed work, but you will continue to earn credit for your online
activity. Gomez is reviewing Pending Gomez PEERs' application forms on
an on-going basis and will make selections according their PC's online
activity and our customers' needs.

The following is a list of the most common reasons why you may not have
been selected as an Active Gomez PEER. For a complete explanation and
steps on how to resolve these issues, please visit
http://www.porivo.com/peernetwork/html/faq...htm#notSelected.

1. Incomplete information or errors on the application form

2. You have not downloaded, installed, and run the Gomez PEER.

3. The Internet connection type, country, and zip code you indicated in
the "Preferences" box on the Gomez PEER user interface does not match
the true location and bandwidth of your machine.

4. Your system characteristics and system activity do not meet Gomez's
current business needs.

Please be sure to continue to run the Gomez PEER while you are online
because we will be tracking your online availability and work processed.
Given the volume of applicants, it may take up to 10 business days
before we notify you of your account status. If you are selected as an
Active Gomez PEER, your account will be credited with any earnings you
accrue during the calendar month in which you are activated. Your
patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.

As always, you can contact us with questions or comments at

Well, there's only one reason that may apply in my case which is number 4.

I have DSL and my computer is averaging 22-23 hours on and connected to internet, I live in Venezuela where I'm pretty you don't have much peers (if you have any).  So I will strongly apreciate if you send a personal mail answering if I will be activated soon, cause if not I'll unfortunately be forced to resign, I signed up about two years ago (when it wasn't Gomez Peer but Porivo Peer) and never got activated then you started paying only by Paypal I solved the problem by talking to a frieind who especially configured an extra Paypal email address just for me just to get this now.  So, as might understand if I don't meet your customer/business needs then I won't give my 24 hours DSL connection and processor work of my PC for free.

Feel free to hit me back (answer this mail) but if I don't get an answer to this mail I will unsuscribe in a week.  Thanks for your time and attention.

Sincerely,
Carlos Ortega

So I'll wait for a week to see if they decide to activate my account.
dockkash
I've been a member for about 3 years and they have payed me $78.45 for doing nothing, the trick to getting approved is staying online for 24/7, if you can accumulate 85 hours in a month they'll approve you.
Mind you its not alot they pay but it pays for some of the internet cost unlike the gazillion lame email companies that continually change TOS service so they never have to pay!
Mind you 2 there are some honest PTR programs.
 aa.gif

P.S Porivo doesn't approve everybody, they only look for some countries or certain type of surfers, I'm just lucky to be one of them.

Also as everyone out there knows people are lazy, don't want to do things right, they continually "cheat" to make things better but they make things worse,
Little trick to making money:
Don't cheat
fill out forms properly
Webmasters of programs were not born on banana boats so don't think you can get away with it
If you live in a country where the "program says do not sign up if you are from xxxxx", then don't try saying you live in Philadelphia Massuchusetts because we know there isn't a Philadelphia in Mass.

Don't cheat, if you do not want to search, look at ads, or look at peoples designs on there personal websites then don't sign up.

Currently, they also pay more than surfbars (and without the annoying adbar)!
and you can run the software day and night

And with their new software, they now activate everyone!

I'm from New Zealand.. when I was first activated I was on a dialup 56k internet connection (which we did leave running up to 20 hrs a day.. it was "unlimited")

I'm now on Cable.. it took me around a month to get activated and I've been paid pretty much evey second month (sometimes every month) since smile.gif

I have $5.07 pending for payout this month.. and now they have added egold as an option which is great! not bad for just leaving it running smile.gif

It's a pity that not everyone can get activated because it's a great Paypal or E-Gold filler. I was activated within 5 weeks of signing up because i live in outback Queensland, Australia. Currently still on 56k dialup.
I've been a member for almost 2 years. I've been paid $70.18 US, $5.73 pending right now which means i'll be paid that plus a little extra early next month. So far I average about 12c a day. (when i run it... sometimes i go out and forget to turn it on).
When you think about it, there is more than likely a program like it out there that pays more as Porivo only pays you if you run the Peer for at least 255 minutes each day (or 4 hours & 15 minutes) which is 10c + maybe a few cents more for some actual processing of web pages. It takes me about 6 weeks to reach the $5 payout
Susy

I was an active member several years ago, when it was the Porivo Peer.

Paid regularly, my computer connected by cable 24/7.

Suddenly, I get an email that my services are no longer required and I have been de-activated, but I can continue to run their program.

It was immediately uninstalled, never to return.

I do run the CapCal agent (and United Devices). CapCal sent an unexpected payment this month.

I was made active the day after I joined.

I was activated on the 24th of this month. biggrin.gif Along with my activation letter that they sent me was an explanation as to why I was activated. If you are a member and are still on pending status, this is what you need to do. Uninstall the Gomez Peer. Login to your account and in the right hand corner click on download Gomez Peer. Download the upgraded Peer and they will activate you(hopefully). They have upgraded the Peer software and the way I understand it, is that they are activating everyone who has downloaded the upgraded software. Try this if you are in Pending Status and Good Luck.

Thanks for that tip, I am gonna try that out and see if it works.

But I'm curious as to one thing... how do you think this new "activate everyone" deal is going to work? I'm a bit curious as to how they are going to manage to do that...

Also, will my firewallage affect it at all???
dkjmom
I have norton firewall on my computer. I had the option to permit, block, etc... when i first put the new peer on my computer. Of course, I permitted it to go through. So now when i logon to the internet it goes on without any prompts. I'm not sure, but you may have to disable the firewall and the virus protection while your installing the software. I would do this while you're offline if that is the case.
jkjo
i'm using zone alarm
and ever since i installed gomez peer,
everytime i connect to internet
it asks me if i'll allow java.exe.
so i just say yes.

Thanks for starting this thread. I had completely forgotten that I was a member of this one..lol. I got tired of seeing pending month after month, so I uninstalled it and just left it alone.

After reading this thread this morning, I tried it again. Saw that danged pending again for most of the day, but after fetchin my son from b-ball practice, I came home and brought it back up and it said I was active.

I don't think that your rank has anything to do with getting activated or not. It's more which sort of internet connection you're using etc. Don't know exactly what their criteria are.

I started running the software in April, and did not get activated for about 3 months.

I did not mind running the program as it did not interfere with anything, and actually forgot about it. Then all of sudden when I checked I noticed my account was active and earning biggrin.gif
Susy
You're correct, Naama. The ranking is more just an inhouse thing. Pretty much how long you're online, when you signed up type thing. My ranking goes up and down depending on how long I might be offline at times. Up around 830 now. I notice if I'm offline doing scans or using the puter for other things, it does go to around 840.

The contests are more refs, longest time online, etc.

LOL and ain't it great! It just sits there working in the background and doesn't bug you for anything. Neither does the po. wink.gif No rant emails. No begging emails. No viruses/trojans/keyloggers/popups. *Sigh* If only. LMAO
