I'm going to assume that most of the people interested in getting paid like this are teenagers. Well, why do you spend your time clicking on links and then are happy when you get $10? I mean, one site *RECOMMENDED* on here was paying .25 cents (that's $0.0025 NOT $0.25) for spending 30 seconds on a site. If they had TONS of advertsiers (which they don't), it would take 400 minutes to reach the minimum payout of $2.

In Washington, minimum wage is about $6.50. That means that in the time you could make $2 with a "Get Paid To" program, you could make about $50 if you went out and got a real job. Am I missing something? Why do you use these programs?
mdenison
First off there are several members on this board who make over $1,000/mo. Second of all, there are several members on this board who are disabled and can't get a "real job." Third of all, there are several members on this board who are not old enough to get a "real job." Finally, if you don't think what this whole board is about is worth the time, then leave. No one asked you to come here. ac.gif

It isn't just about the money:)

* you can meet some really great people - I love that part
* it is a hobby to keep you busy
* you can learn A LOT
* can talk to people from other countries - that is a buzz
* there are other ways that you can earn a lot more than wht you stated - I do ae.gif

mdenison makes a great point. There are lots of people online who are disabled but can still sit and click a few hours a day. Then there are those who need and/or choose to be home to take care of those family members and/or their kids. Sometimes there are few jobs available in their areas or their work is seasonal. Some are full time students. Doing this certainly allows for "flex-time"...lol. Hops also makes a good point--this is a community.
Short version--it can be a great addition to the choices available for how to earn a lttle cash. Especially, if one chooses their programs carefully and takes working them seriously.
mdenison
I'm sorry but people like this just ###### me off. am.gif We don't need some jerk coming here to tell us we're wasting out time.
Miki
So your saying you are not wasting OUR time by coming in to put us down for doing something we CHOOSE to do? Another great reason for doing these programs are the points, redeeming them for advertising to your business sites. Yeah, I am a work at home mother of small children and my husband makes decent money doing what he does for a living. Dont come in and put people down for doing what they need or want to do, you are wasting our time coming here. You need to leave if you disaprove so much.

Take your "better than you" attitude and stand out in the rain with it. Maybe a "better than you" bolt of lightning will hit your ***. ai.gif

Be a bit understanding - this is the newbie forum!

The guy does have a point. If it takes 400 min (almost 7 hrs) to earn $2 then you are better offer searching the streets for cash - and you would get a lot more!

But the thing is that this is not the main source of income for the majority of people here.

If you think about it we are being taken like a lot of mugs who waste their time clicking links everyday and don't get a lot out of it! Imagine what you could do instead to doing ptr schemes. Learn a new language, musical instrument etc.

The reality is that a lot of people do this (including me probably) because we think we are going to get "paid" but in truth we are just wasting our time and earning a few cents.

Just my 2 cents worth aa.gif !
lukke
When I started with this I also belived that it was only teenagers that was doing the same as I.
I was quite surprised when I found out that there were people older than me that were in this "business". I'm "only" 27 years old. ab.gif

I like it, not making a lot of money (yet) but I kind of like doing this.

And if it weren't for gpt-programs I wouldn't have met all the lovely people here at gpf.

To me, this is not a waste of time. I just don't devote time to clicking links etc. I do it while I am chatting, playing games, etc. Last year I paid for half of my daughter's college tuition ($2000 or so), so this is fine to me. You just need to know the programs to join.

I really didn't mean to put anyone down, I was just wondering why people do this. I just didn't understand why anyone would want to use a program like this.

I'm just here to see what the possibilities are with something like this . . . to see if it's worth it. Mainly becuase I couldn't care less what my homepage is set to and I'd love to get paid for changing it.
Charlez
i feel like i'm not wasting time

because

i just click some links while i chatting
i.e while im waiting for people to respond
pauses in between games etc
so i click one or two links
of course i wont get rich from this
but i would have been wasting my time anyways sitting in front of my computer. =D
i think of it as getting paid to waste time that i was going to waste anyways =D

without flaming and bashing you answer yourself these questions:
1.Do you have a little extra time on your hands?
2.You click on tons of links daily as a part of internet use, why not get paid for clicking even if a small amount?
3.Do you have websites? How would you like to click for points to use for advertising to thousands of people and raise your stats and maybe even earn more money from basically free advertising?
4.Another website question, where else can you purchase advertising for as low as a $1?
5.Can you click links while doing other things until they load and read?

If you look at all the possibilities with these programs they are worth every second you spend in them. Let me tell you, MikesPaid4emails is awesome. You earn a nice amount in no time plus advertising prices are great. If you are looking for good programs we would all love to help.
I am a newbie also so I know the concerns of if things are worth doing. I am sorry that the first post I made in reply was offensive but please keep in mind that is how most of us took your opening post. I have also met some nice people on this board and even found website banner and link exchanges to raise my stats for free. You would be surpised with the friendships you can make on these types of boards.

This isn't a waste of time for me.
This is a very good experience. 99% of ppl worldwide don't know about this way of making money I think.
When I first started I think it was a waste of time but now it isn't aa.gif

i don't devote time to it either. i do my emails & ptc's while i'm talking to my boyfriend online & don't have anything else to do on the internet anyway. it's in no way an inconvience to me whatsoever, it's not hard to click on a few links. i don't except to make a lot from this either. but it's no trouble to me, so i don't feel i'm "wasting" my time ab.gif

i'm saving up every single nickel i can (seriously, i'm looking under couch cushions) so i can make a down payment on an apartment & finally move out of my parents' house. i don't plan on doing this for very long, just until i reach payout with all my programs (luckily, most all of my programs have payout at $5 or less) & can put a few extra dollars in my bank account, again for the apartment.

after i reach payout, i will hopefully have a steady job. the economy in the US is crappy right now, most of my friends are unemployed & can't find a job. personally i'll take anyone that'll hire me, it's that bad. after i can get a real job i'll probably close all my paid email account except maybe PenniesByMail & a couple others that i honestly enjoy clicking on links for, because of the webmaster's humor & friendliness.

There is a potential for you to earn lots of money but you have to find the right program and get a lot of referrals. I'm a full time student and I'm not interested in getting a job because they require you to work a certain amount of hours. In this type of industry I can slack off one week and get away with it. I love it, it's better than having a fastfood job flipping burgers or working a cash register. I did that for four years and it was the most degrading aspect of my life. ad.gif The gpt industry doesn't make you wear a silly uniform either. ae.gif

I'm new here but I feel that I must contribute to this thread. First off I'm not a teenager I'm past those years. But I am disabled so do these different helps me out a great deal. Yes some of them turn out to be scams (i.e. zWallet) but that's the chance you take. Most of these programs have good people running them so that far out weighs the scammers. I'll tell you the exact reason I do these....THE MONEY! I need it desperately! Try living on under $600 a month and then you'll understand where some of us are coming from. av.gif

Not all PTR programs have a low value for links.

For example Mikes: 1 to 5 cents per link in e-mails and a great PTC section with 1 cent each banner.

With this program you make that 2$ in 1 - 1.5 hours (not 400) ae.gif .

What you have to do is just find some good (not low payout) programs ... and stick some referrals and you gonna make at least 100$ monthly.

i have to add one more thing. I'm a student and i'm unemployed so basically every penny counts. I'm the type of person that picks up every single penny on the sidewalk. lol. I've found lots of pennies that way.
