Thanks Sophie for all your work on this section. It is needed.

For the many of us who have no idea and are slow learners like me duh.gif as well as those who try to help there will never be too many sources of help and information.

Hi,

To be honest, it's not me who should be thanked, I didn't do it by myself, other mods contributed a lot to this.

Also, we didn't do anything but trying to compile the informations available here in order to make it more userfriendly as like you said, it is very difficult to understand.

The ones who should really be thanked are the ones who contribute to fight the problems and post the infos here or anywhere else, they are the ones making it all possible, who share their infos and knowledge and who help the most.

Sophie

I would also like to extend my thanks to the mods for building this section and their hard work on raising awareness on this issue.

To everyone here, this virus attempts to exploit security holes found in earlier versions of browsers. Please make sure you are using the latest version of Firefox if you are using Firefox. For Internet Explorer users, anything before IE7 is simply unacceptable (I'm not kidding, previous IE's are a security nightmare).

If you are using IE and are on Windows XP SP2, download IE7 here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx
If you are using another OS, please use Firefox:

One last bit of information. As you might already know I am the author of one of the two detectors. The latest version of my detector, 2.4 for Firefox and 2.1 for IE, will attempt to block most of the known viral sites from loading. To download my detector please follow the instructions here: http://www1.webng.com/mvent2/
