i had my little problem with roboform and lost the password for this site. i go to recover my password and this is what i get!!!!!!! that is absolutely without a doubt nuts. does this mean i have to pay my own account to get my password recovered? or am i in fact paying them for it? i don't get some of these people at all.

charging for passwords now? THATS JUST PLAIN CHEAP. Heck I dont even think non-paid sites you signup with that charge for passwords. This is just plain RIDICULILAS (can't spell and dont have time too look it up at the moment). Glad not with them.

Oh, personally I dont use any forms to store passwords and that. I know it may be easier to fill out forms that way. But to me those form fillers are SCUMware. I'd just rather use a spreadsheet on my pc with all my programs and information, that way I never lose my info. And yes I do backup to a zipdisk. and yes my sheadsheet is also password protected. Heck my whole pc at home is password protected. Only I know how to log on to my pc... no one else in my home knows how.

Have been a member since 2/13/03 and thing about paying to get your password was there when I joined.

actually i have never until now had to request my password. also i am going to email them a polite note about it. isn't it illegal to charge for a password? what they are doing is charging a person for access to an account that belongs to the person they are charging for. now if i want to quit i have to pay for access to that account. i don't think it is legal to charge a person to quit a program.
debra2
there has to be some legal issues... I mean it is YOUR acct and YOUR info. Of course if they don't stop sending you emails and you can't quit cause you don't have .005 wouldn't that be spam?

Man I am glad I'm not a part of their program.
pepo
Look at their "terms" page if any.If there is such a term("If you forgot your password...blablabla..") you cant do nothing but to pay them because when you singed up with clicks4cash you have agreed with their "terms & conditions".
Anyway if I was you I'm not going to pay for a program which is dying
papnille
Whatever they put in the Terms & Conditions and however legal it could be, I believe it is fundamentally wrong to charge people for passwords.

P.S.: Maybe it happened 18 days ago?

Mam, the reason we do that is because we do not have your email account on file. I cannot remove an account at your say-so-allwe require is the account number and have NO WAY to match it to the account by any other way.

As for spam,as we do not have your email, orany other personal information, we certainly cannot send youthat either.

The 1/2cent we require is to reset yourpassword to your egoldacct #-and it must be paid from the egold account in question. I have no control over this and no other way to do it.

i have never ever before had to pay for a password and i do not intend to start now. please either email my password or remove me from your program. in the u.s. it is not legal to charge someone for a password to an account that technically belongs to them. if they can't acess the account they can't unsubscribe. if they can't unsubscribe then any mail you send is considered spam. i am referring to click4cash. my egold # is 711357.

If you want to quit, but don't want to pay for them to reset your password, just do this:

Sign up for multiple accounts under your own ref link....you will get deleted eventually....then block them from sending you mail. LMAO!
lady_knight
well i don't see that as an answer cause knwoing my luck i'd get black listed as a cheater which i am not. i already got called that one by evelyn turner thank you very much lmao.

I'm not sure it is illegal, what happens when you lose your pin at the bank>? alot of them charge you for a new pin issue. ah.gif

I understand their point, but it shouldn't be half a cent. They should make it basically a worthless amount, like 1 lira or 1 yen - basically so small its like 1/100000th of a cent lol. then that provides the proof its you requesting a new password.

just my opinion.

well i have never been charged for losing a pin or a debit card or even a credit card yet and i lose them periodically thanks to my adhd. but you have a point about the making it worthless in value.

All the bankers know that if they charged you, they would not be able to get/keep too many customers.
