So far, I have gotten mail from Magic Mails, MyPaidEmails, 5starpromotions, and a few of Jays sites. I am not subscribed to any of these!!! Why are they sending me e-mail, and HOW are they getting my address? Is there a way I can make this stop? I'm not so stupid that I can't figure out what programs I'm subscribed to, and what I'm not. It's insulting!!! am.gif ar.gif

sometimes ppl will sign someone up .. they can pull your adress from anywhere even in here not saying thats the case.. It happens more then ppl think.. Ive had it happen once and unsubscribing didnt even work but i emailed the owner and explained what i thought had happened..

I dont think most owners would do it to ppl i think its just ppl doing it to other ppl.. There are some weird ppl out there that get kicks out of strange things

Well , if your upline did indeed sign you up , for example , on my program , which they would have to jump thru some hoops to do , and I don't want to go into detail , I could see your referrer , but I could not tell from just that if they signed you up . I believe it's possible to come of a FAIRLY sure conclusion after checking a few things , but not completely solid -- at least not with me and my limited knowledge anyway :c) So write the wm and see how much they can find out about it .

Hope that helps some .

Ooh yes , I forgot to tell you they would benny from that if you were active .

I would want to know if you got signed up for my proggy , but you can just send for your pass and unsub if you don't want to write the wm . I think it would be intresting to see what *my* pass word was anyway , if this happened to me .

I got a few emails too and wrote asking why I was getting a confirmation email to a program I didn't even join. One program was over $10 cashout and I never join anything oer $5 these days.

They WM was a bit rude and informed me someone must have signed me up because he doesn't spam.

I don't get why they'd sign me up... they won't earn anything unless I click on emails and I don't click on emails that I have no clue where they're from. I caught the confirmation email before any others came.

Stupid people.. I don't get cheating... I really don't I only make pennies all this crap for a friggin penny these people wouldn't even bend over to pick up on the sidewalk! am.gif

Lol. No way I'm going to be active in a program I know I didn't sign up for ae.gif So, if somebody did sign me up in hopes of that, they wasted their time. ai.gif Thanks for the advice!

Now that I think of it, I never got mails to confirm sign-up from any of these programs. Don't they all send those, before they even consider you a member? It's not possible that someone is able to use my e-mail account AND confirm me, too, unless they break into my e-mail, right?!?!? The only other thing I can think of, is that some of the WM's maybe are a little dishonest, because, oddly, I ONLY get search links from these programs--which, of course, is only beneficial to the WM... Hmmm. Dunno.

Hi ,

They are counting on those few souls who do confirm/click/forget/whatever .

Sometime back there was much heard on the subject . I even read agruments from someone who * if I remember correctly * has shared information with others on how to accomplish this form of cheating . I remember clearly that the argument was that the cheaters thinking is , *you're* probably going to join any way and they are saving *you* the trouble .

Well Scamper , I really didn't want to say , just incase ppl looking for info on how to cheat are here and about .

But I guess I'll put it out here so you won't just concintrate on your e-mail being hacked , tho that could be the case .

If I have your addy , who's to say I have to sign up with it ? Can't I use *whatever* addy , confirm the new membership myself , add some bogus info and then change the e-mail addy to your addy ?

Those souls I mentioned earlier might just go in and update the info to the correct home address , etc and think , duh ! Why'd I do that .
lexiekinz
Scamper ,

Why don't you log in those accounts a look about a bit ?

If the info isn't bogus , could it be availiable in the white pages ?

I've tried to log in--but, of course, I don't know what PW whoever used my e-mail info used. For now, I'm just writing the WM's, asking them to please not send me more e-mail, as I never signed up with their programs. Hopefully, they'll respect this, because my mailbox is already flooded with the programs I'm legitimately a part of!

Scamper ,

Most likely the wm will not unsub you . The reason is , we can't be sure that you are the *real* owner of the account and we might be deleting someones account who really wants it . This is to protect all members from others with a possible grudge against , maybe , you .

Request that *your* pw be resent to you . If the program owner is using updated CC scripts the pw is encrypted anyway . The scripts will generate a random 8 or 12 character nosensical (sp) pw and mail that to your e-mail box .

If not , you'll be mailed what ever pw the person who signed you up created for that account .

Ok so what I've learned here is that whoever did that to me was a plain ######... rofl since they didn't confirm my membership before getting the mail to me ao.gif

At least I got a laugh out of it! LOL

That's funny!

I was getting RichMails the other day.....and then 2-3 days later I got the email to confirm signup,

I surely didn't sign up for this, and don't know why I would have gotten a confirmation mail after I received the emails!

Kinda funny tho...at the same time I'm getting a lot of e-gold game spam and I just got something from freebizz1@excite.com with the subj of Welcome to Freebiz1- The Land Of Free Money with a bunch of links to sign up for paid emails.............

I only use that email addy for my paid programs here, I have other addys for other stuff.
