What type of site do you need the design for?

Do you want your content added the design?

Do you need script intergration into the design?

Those are a couple of questions that need to be answered before I can offer a quote. If you are just looking for a design with no content added and no script intergration that would run you between 20.00-40.00 dollars.

well, there are people who do designs for 10$ too, but that doesn't mean that they do quality job... there are different kind of designers, and they all have different qualification, I don't do designs belowe 150$ quote, because it's simply not worth my time. Quality is what matters for me, and I do have quite a nice stream of clients - who long for QUALITY! not cheapest offers...

designing is not a peace of cake.. so i wouldn't sit on computer everday to make design for 10$.. my minimum price for whole portal is 50$... it is not worth for less money.. web designers are not respected enough, so people thinks they could get pro design for free(or in this case like 10$).. what is 10$? few ice-creams, and designer needs to work for that few days, and make a new ideas for each design.

I am not sure who you were refering to about the 10 dollar designs. I spend a lot of time on the internet and any free time I have I find myself trying out new designs. I have quite a few just sitting in reserve and I see no reason to over charge for a design I have already created.

Now, If a person wants a site based on a theme or something to that effect I will charge more for it.

I understand where you are coming from, but there is a difference between work you have done in your spare time and a custom themed design. I am not sure who offered a design for 10.00. I realize mine seems low to some of you, but that would be because I have designs in reserve.

I would also like to add that if a designer can do it for cheaper and the customer in happy with the results it is their own business. Coming in behind someone and complaining about the fact that they can offer it for cheaper is pretty childish. It is the customers opnions that matter though, not ours.

Who are these people you are talking about? Also, Who is or was questioning that webstie design is a creative process? I didn't read any posts in this topic to this effect at all.

I didn't realize anyone had mocked your price. I guess that is because, as you pointed out, it was edited out. I didn't think that your price was high for a complete custom design made within 24 hours. If I were to theme something from scratch in a tight time frame like that to the customers specifications I would charge near that price also.

It's no problem though. I was just letting you know why I thought you were funny. I agreed.

You don't need to understand nothing... I have my prices, and i respect anyone else with different prices.

No one questioned where you come from or what some people may charge locally to you. I know people personally that charge more then that, but it is not relevant to this topic.

This section is for members to post their needs and designers to offer them a price for their services. It is up to each designer what they want to charge for their time and it is up to the customer which designer they will choose. I will make my offer, and you should do the same, but if the customer wants to take a lower priced design then so be it.

Point is, We should all respect the content of eachothers posts in this area and only reply directly to the customer rather then the other designers.

well, maximum I was paid was 1200$ for the custom design of the university page. I made an original layout, completely admin panel driven...

that's because low cost deisgners devaliuate quality work... if I and u start charging 1 $ per design, everybody will go out of business, but will that be worth it?

I doubt either of us will charge a dollar per design, But it is really the decision of the customer of what they take. In some countries, such as china, these prices they charge are a good wage. Of course that doesn't work for me as I live in the U.S. and the cost of living is much higher.

Would it be worth it for us to charge less? No it would not, But that doesn't change the fact that some people can make a good living off of the cheaper prices that they charge and still offer a good design.

Graphics design will take the same course as textiles in America. Mills are shutting down to move operations over seas so they can pay a cheaper wage. Is it right? No it is not, But that doesn't change the fact that it is happening.

What does this mean? It is up to the customer to decide what design they want. They will not always take the cheaper design but in most cases they will. All you can hope to do is make an offer and hope that your work proves itself.

Yes, Everyone can have the same prices as people in the U.S. and I am not saying they can't. I am saying that they don't have to and they can still make a good living. If we are going to discuss why some people can charge less and still make money then we will have to discuss world economics.

they charge less because living in those countries is much cheaper... in other words, 10$ have different value for us Europeans, it's different for Americans, and it's totally different for Asians...

In Eu, 10$ is nothing! You cannot even have a proper food, will probably buy a good big MAC... not more, that's why I don't trouble with projects like that
