I have a job interview tomorrow - well, almost today now.. for a job I really, really want.

I'd be dispatcher for the Police Department in my town, and I'd handle 911 calls, dispatch EMS, Fire and Police to whoever might need them.

I think i've finally found the job I want to do when I grow up !

This job would meet all my requirements - I'd get to help people, I'd be able to talk to people, I'd be able to use a computer, and I'd get to sit down while working (don't laugh - the sitting part is very important - i've spent the last year and a half working while standing up and it's killing me)

I'm not really concerned with the salary - anything is more than i'm making now, and we've proven that we can live on Gary's salary alone if need be...

Anyway, please wish me luck....

I'm so exicted i'll never sleep tonight and i'm very nervous about this.

I just applied Tuesday and they told me they wouldn't be interviewing for weeks, but I got a call today and my interview is Friday at 2:00 pm. I hope this is a good sign..... The job was only posted in the paper on Sunday.

Good News ! The interview went exceptionally well, and I have a good feeling about this job. It helps immensely that my first cousin - who is a career cop - knows the woman who interviewed me. He gave her a call before the interview, extolled my many virtues, and generally gave me rave reviews. He's going to give her a call on Monday to see what she thought of me, and try to find out what my chances are. Keeping my fingers crossed, and praying as hard as I can.

It should be about two weeks before I know for sure if i've gotten the job. I'll be on pins and needles until then, I know. Please send prayers, good thoughts, whatever. This is the first job i've seen that really interests me, and I want it so badly it hurts....

I've heard that it can be a very tough job, but that's ok. I WANT a tough job - something that will challenge me, make me think, and allow me to learn something new every day.

I think this would be perfect for me - now i'm just praying that the interviewer wants me for this position.

I can assure you that i've NEVER gotten a job based upon my looks, and I don't expect to get this position based on them either.

I DO expect that any position I obtain will be based upon my profession qualifications and my abilities.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Business Administration, as well as a number of classes in graduate school. Do you have any of those ?

In my career, I've been a programmer/analyst, database analyst, and data security analyst.

I gave up my high paying corporate career to become a full-time wife and mother - a choice i've never regretted.

From your posts, you work at a 7-11. Tell me-- did you get that job based upon your looks or your qualifications ?
