Just saw a post that Magic8 had re-opened.
Having looked at the news on the site, I plan to steer clear of them this time.
Always makes me a bit suspicious when data is irretrievably lost!!

Magic8 were shut downed on March 21, 2003 because our hosting company were attacked / shut-downed by hackers. This is email received by my hosting company on March 29,2003

The server was hacked and our server provider http://dv2.com/ shut down our server. We did pay the billing around March 10. At this time, we have no control with the server because they take over the server and may close the server soon. We can't access website manager so all user should login Cpanel and download your backup file. Then transfer to your new web hosting. they will shut down the server again witin 24 hours

I have downloaded databases backup but it was corrupted and was not possible to use any data. I'm sorry but all personal details, position details, payments details... ENTIRE database system is lost. Magic8 have to start now from begin
