I read the post here in complaints and in the general discussion board about e-gold spam. I was hoping some one would post who to contact about unsolicited spam. One poster listed reporting to the IP. I am extremely computer illiterate. Can someone post details. I have gotten 4 porn spams this afternoon, 1 while I was here reading posts.
I am not an old prude, well at least not a prude, but I am just BORED with SMUT. Any suggestions?

Whatever you do don't ask to be taken off thier list, I tried that and I swear the smut tripled in a matter of days.

Yep.......once they find out they have a "live" e-mail address, the stuff will start rolling in

I've found on a couple of occasions when I've tried to unsub that I get a failed delivery message to the email address so it seem it didn't exist.
Being a fellow computer illiterate how can you track down where the mails are coming from and do something about them?
Cheers,
Curly

Yeah, I did learn quick not to try to unscribe, I use hotmail and it has a limit of - I think - 250 individual emails you can block and 250 - what do you call it servers? - and this past weekend I had to go thru and take several off the list as I had all the block lists full. Of course I did that because I had several that I needed to block that day and now I have blocked about 6 more today!
And this was all in a matter of 2 and 1/2 years.

Very easy -- sign up for free at www.spamcop.net and keep at it -- it will take a while, but my spam has dropped dramatically. I report the stuff every day. You don't need any special knowledge except how to read directions for the different email programs (hotmail, yahoo, AOL, outlook, etc.)

here's a way to stop it... get a hotmail account then go to www.dot.tk and register another .tk domain. When you give out your email always make a different one at a .tk domain that redirects to your original. That way if you get lots of spam you can just delete the forwarding link and voila no more spam.

Totally agree .
I don't even bother to unsub as they then know they have a good addy . I just report them to Spam Cop and they dig out the info needed and report the SPAMMER right from the spam cop web site .

Thanks, I will check out the spamcop site. I am just really bored with all this trash email. I have a profound aversion to all this crap in my inbox that I haven't specifically requested!!!
