every day i receive more and more e-gold program spam in the email i sign at this forum!!

Looks like my email address was displayed openly here... so I changed in the control panel the option for "Hide my email address from other members".

How do I show the header information in outlook express?

right-click on the email line (dunno the term... header i guess...) & select properties
its usually on the details tab

I have always had my email hidden from others in my settings, but I still get this crap. These jerks must be getting them from the d/l builder because I only get this garbage in the addy's that I use in there. To whomever is sending this crap...GET A LIFE AND A REAL JOB. IF I DID PLAY ONE OF THESE GAMES, IT MOST CERTAINLY WOULD NOT BE USING YOU AS A REFERRAL! I REPORT EACH AND EVERY ONE TO SPAM COP!!

He one time joe jobbed the admin email address with a spam mail and was instantly banished. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if he hasnt come back again.

POG means Pool Of Gold and they have a forum

Half the spam that comes from PoG aint from them but from another lot. 95% of that spam comes from GMTech.

I am so tired of getting these egold spam messages! I don't even have an egold account!

I got this one as well! It said you can be removed by replying with REMOVE, but of course it's a fake email address.

.....what I found is basically the same thing I see here. People are willing to complain but unwilling to take any action.

Of course, a lot of people are in the same position as I was and have no idea what reasonable action can be taken to stop this spam.

The one thing I did get from the other thread was that egold does have a fairly strict anti-spam policy. I sent them several of the offending emails and they claimed to be closing down the egold ids of the person that the sites were serving and asked me to direct additional complaints to the spammers ISP.

Of course, the emails didn't stop. Perhaps one of the programs was stopped, but this spammer just will start 3 more and probably has multiple egold ids.

I would encourage people to read through egolds policy and complain as you see fit. The response I received from them did not appear to be a form letter, but again, I'm not sure my one little complaint had much of an impact with them or the spammer. IF this spammer (apparently from China per the IP) truly had all his egold disconnected, he would have no reason to keep spamming. If he's able to send out this much spam to all of us, then I presume his ISP doesnt care.

I actually got frustrated (though I never expressed it before this post) with the people in this forum for seeming to complain without actually wanting to try to find a solution to the program. I suppose its part of human nature to complain....and I know the root of my frustration is the spam and no one person here (well, maybe one person, we just dont know who it is).

I finally had the IP blocked from my mail server (and I'd tell other people how if I had done it myself, but I haven't a clue and most people would likely need intervention from their ISPs). I know longer see the spam. I'm sure there's anti-spam software that would serve a similar purpose.

My advice to anyone still reading...if you can determine the spammers ISP, you can lodge a complaint with them (I never figured out who it was). Otherwise, I think a few more emails to e-gold with as much detail as you are willing to provide could slow this person down or get some of their egold accounts closed and perhaps get him to stop exploiting those he spams. I'm not holding my breath, but good luck to anyone else who even bothers to try.

I am on this list as well and believe it originated from E-goldforum.

The E-goldmaster(at e-goldforum) originally began selling these email addresses for e-gold account holders or ANYONE seeking out anything that has to do with e-gold some time ago.

I seen it myself that he was selling these.

Now others have these email addresses and are using them and selling them off as well. So it could only get worse if this is the case.

*The e-goldforum has changed(complete makeover) and alot of pages(currently) are unaccessable...so I cannot find that post. I know I commented on it a few times asking if it was a big scam and pretty much had members YELL at me(through writing, of course).

I'd like to know that too. The ONLY forum I am a member of with that email address is this one. That rules out the possibility that it is only coming from the e-gold forum. I think the most likely answer is the combination of the two. Or maybe an angry program owner... but I really hope that isn't the case.
