I think it's another one who want to run with our money

I'm also a member of paypal, have been for over 2 years, I have not had any kind of trouble with them. I don't think that they want to run with the money, as u believe.... Maybe they have made a mistake or something, but maybe your account has been flagged for good reason. Why don't u call them if nothing else and see without giving your info first. I'm sure that they feel that they have good reason to feel as they do also, and it can be worked out. Paypal is a stricted company and if u do something against their rules, yes they will freezen your account and are hard to deal with when this happens. But running with the money? I doubt it.

This is not uncommon....if they have lots of people trying to log into your account...or if you have not updated your details in a while...they just want to make sure they have accuarte information....as sometimes when you log in you get an update screen and may people skip over it....

They dont say they are keeping your money they just say they want to make sure your info is updated

The best way to verify your account is signing on the paypal website yourself. I would recommend not clicking links from emails even if I know its from paypal itself, like recietes and that... I still goto my favorites folder and click that link instead.

I agree fully!

Translation to English (all of it) Belgian bucks, just go to the site of paypal, login there, it is common that you have to provide certain data after logging in. Then they check whether your address is still the same, the other day I even had to answer my questions anew and I mailed them about it but it was correct they told me I had to do that.

Hope this helps!

Have a wonderful day,

Pos aa.gif

For what I understand Belgian bucks thinks (and I agree) that the email is not from Paypal but is a scam to try and get her password and run with her money.

I had the same thing with Paypal a couple of months back. They do this every now and again to maintain your saftey. Also they do this so you can do any type of update to your profile that you may have forgot about.

I like Paypal over any other type of online payment system.

Hyper, I think you should read the email properly, and look at the fake headers.

First off, the IP it came from is here: 68.42.106.164

That IP is based in Michigan and used by Comcas.net

Secondly, the combats.ru screams out GMTech upto no good again. If that is so, then the IP is being used as a blind relay, or is one of their cohorts.

Paypal NEVER send emails out like that. Just like e-gold.com dont send them out.

BelgianBucks: Can you post the message body if you still have the email. It will probably have a fake IP within it. I am interested in that IP since I have been finding a lot of emails with this IP range below:

LOL!
That email was not sent from the real PayPal site.

PayPal would NEVER send you an email asking you to "click here" to log in and update your info.

THEY JUST DON"T DO THAT

Don't ever respond to any email you get like that....don't follow the instructions in it either.

It is not from PayPal.

It is someone else trying to get access to your account.

Many, many people have gotten these fake PayPal emails and have followed the instructions in them. If you do that, you are jsut handing over your login info to a scammer.

PayPal would never send out an email like that.

This is NOT routine for PayPal.

Don't fall for it.

No they do not send these type of e-mails out. Only scammers do. You better go change your password.

These scammers also got any bank account information and credit card info that you may of had. If you fell for it. You cannot stop auto electonic withdraws from your bank checking or savings if you don't know your account info has been stolen.

If you did have this info in your paypal account follow theses steps;

Go to your bank tell them what happen and open up a new savings and checking account. Close the other two accounts.

Contact the credit card company, explain and ask for a new card to be sent to you. Meanwhile request a freeze on it. They could be just waiting until you have enough funds to make it worth while to steal your money.

Paypal doesn't verify with credit cards, only bank accounts. Unless your moving large amounts of cash you don't need to be verified. I canceled my bank information and just use one credit card for payments. Far safer if anyone should ever gain illegal access to my account.

Paypal REQUIRE people outside of the US to verify with a Credit Card.

I had to do it that way, otherwise I was limited.
